a couple months ago, i heard a sister in Christ teach about Needs and i have had similar experiences from it. So here is a little something about it

Mat 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Mat 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Mat 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

the word Thought in the above verse comes from the Greek word
merimnaō
mer-im-nah'-o - to be anxious about

Anxiety is an emotional response fueled by impatience, lack of self control, lack of order.
An anxious man/woman will do one thing, leave it and go to another without finishing what he started.
An anxious man/woman is easily shrouded with fear, a lot of what ifs, lack of faith and trust.
An anxious man/woman will want things to happen speedily, and right there and then and will find reason to rebel when he has not got what he wanted.
Anxiety works hand in hand with fear, doubt, and a troubled heart which will lead to call evil good and good evil how so? If anxiety clouds our hearts, so will it our judgement of things.
An anxious man/woman does not see well, or his views are clouded by so many things that he can not make out whats what at times, so choose the best thing. This leads to trying many things, and getting hurt A LOT in the process(from the inside out, and outside in).

But in all this, the Lord said, that it will not ADD anything to us. how so?
The Lord will wait till we are not anxious to answer our prayers, imagine handling a glass vase to person who is shaky, or trusting your value able, thinking to that person will take care it when HE has many things rushing in His mind. His heart is in so many places, and every where he touches, thinking everywhere is a must place to touch

Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Imagine handling more than thing, especially when they are NOT necessary. You will lose one, and gain the other. And since God does not work with an anxious person, guess who you will gain?

Mat 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

So if we are anxious, we will see that all things are valid, and lawful why? we can not really make out whats out in the cloud of anxiety. And we see from verse 22, the Lord says, "If therefore thine eye be single" or we if "set our hearts on one thing" we will not lose direction, we will not feel anxious.

For even the unbelievers know, that divided attention will minimize efficiency. ie we can not do two things, especially when they warring against each other, ie, the flesh against the spirit, worldy things against heavenly things. we can never hold on to both, we will lose one and gain the other, whether in this life or after death.
''
From this i get the unction of praying for direction, and the need to understand that i am a NEW CREATION, the OLD has past. There is no reason to hold on to what has already past, there is all the reason to hold to what is to come.
He that doest the will of God will live forever, but the world? the lake of fire.

So who are you going to serve?

Now where does all that root in?
NEED, we all NEED something, whether material, spiritual, physical, we all NEED something. Thank God for that priveledge to ASK, so that we may RECEIVE from HIM, thank God for the priveledge of KNOCKING(a deeper level of asking) so it may be opened, and the priveledge of SEEKING(deepest) so we may find
"'
ie, When we are outside our friends house wanting to get it, we may first ask and say "whose home?" or call out their names, if no response, we knock, and if no response we SEEK him out, if through the phone or through the usual places so and so hangs out

But in what condition do we ASK, KNOCK AND SEEK so we may receive what we need?

The Apostle paul tells us in the book of Phillipians
Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

replacing those words "careful for nothing" with "take thought of nothing" or "be anxious for nothing", He then continues to say, EVERYTHING by "Asking, if there is not answer, KNOCK, if there is not answer, SEEK" and if we read up in the book of
Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
That He will be found .!!.

So we may ask, doubting NOT, but then we can SEEK with all our hearts(referring to the singleness of eye) and then only will he be found

Seeking HIM with ALL our hearts, showing that Our eyes are single(focusing on HIM), to receive FROM HIM what He wants us to Have.
ie, there are numerous places in the word of God, where different kinds of prayers are answered by just asking, and some are answered by SEEKING, through fasting and prayer, through TOTAL SHUTOUT from the world and just SPENDING TIME WITH THE LORD.

Paul was shut out, and personally trained by the Lord and the apostles.
Moses was shut out, and personally trained by the Lord (we see Him receiving face to face directions from the Lord).
Imagine seeing the Glory of the Lord face to face, i do not think it was an easy thing reaching to such a spiritual Level.
Jeremiahs book of lamentations was a personal seeking of the Lord.
Davids way of SEEKING the LORDs face was different as well.
The people of Nineveh had to rent their clothes in repentance, what if they didnt? it would have been another Sodom and gone/fell as fast or more as Gomorrah.

But it all started with a simple question
what do you need?

Do you need JESUS? or the world or the flesh?
Do you need things of the Kingdom of GOD, or things of this world?

And as we grow in HIM, what do we put first as our daily needs? Do we think like that rich man? thinking there is life in the things we hold and have? and we could really blame him,he was blind as he thought as far as his riches.

But where do we see LIFE in?
Work? School? Friends and Family?
As a man thinketh so IS HE, Whoever we prioritize in our lives is where think there is Life in. He/She/They is/are where we think there is Life.
Thats where we here people say "I NEEDED TO DO THAT" why? Thats where His/her Life is in.

Thats where satan works most, sins that easily beset are due to this very truth, we see a NEED to continually do it, a deep craving within us to do that, we "feel" even if our minds tell us something else, that we "MUST" do so and so.

and thats where the LORD says, He that "committeth" sin is a "servant" of sin, how so? what we feel the NEED to do, we have acknowledged as a MUST do in our lives, and thats where we have put our HEART IN, that is exactly what WE believe to be true

Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness(or unrighteousness if they believe a lie); and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation(also see he that denieth me before i will denie also before my father in heaven).

Therefore LETS PROTECT OUR HEARTS BRETHREN, THATS where life or death can come from.

Gen_8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

Pro_4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Or HERE IS an excellent verse

Luk_6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Is your heart filled with compassion, kindness, love, care and the very attributes of the fruit of the Holy Spirit?

or malice, hate, and all forms of fleshly desires? Whatever fills our hearts is what FEEL THE NEED to do.

So what do we need to do?

Mat 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
Mat 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

and concerning food, drink and other daily needs?

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousnes; and all these things(food, drink, money) shall be added unto you.

The things we get should be a result of seeking HIS kingdom, and HIS righteousness, we do not seek money to gain GOD, we seek GOD to gain money.

So sometimes the flesh brings up the past, what do we do? KILL IT without mercy!!.

that statement, MERCY IS FOR THE WEAK, ie we are STRENGTHENED BY THE HOLY GHOST, WE ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD, THE DEVIL AND HIS MINIONS ARE UNDER OUR FEET. WE ARE STRONG, So when it comes to the flesh and the devil, NO MERCY.!!. ABSOLUTELY NO MERCY..!!..

Question to you!!

How do we lay up treasures in heaven? Do we fly to heaven and come back?

Question to you!!

How do we lay up treasures in heaven? Do we fly to heaven and come back?
Here's how:
Colossians 3:1-3
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

i think storing our treasures in heaven is realizing, thats the prize we are looking for, our treasure. Wanting to be with God for eternity, not letting nothing of the world hold us back, always looking forward to the return of Christ.

We store our treasures in heaven by doing the will of God. We are charitable with our neighbor. We love God. We show kindness and mercy. We thank God for what we have and try to be humble.

we here in America are very bad about getting our wants and needs very mixed up. hope this is a big reminder about what we need ( Jesus ) and what we want ( stuff ). we really should want AND need Jesus.

the moment one mentions the word "treasure", i think of something that is tangible, tangible and value able. Worth the keep and storing.
so when we store treasure up in heaven, is it not like keeping something tangible in heaven? where when GOD looks to bless us He just looks to that and pours out blessings. and even more than that, the bible also says, where our treasure is, there will our heart be also. Who do we trust in when it comes to daily living? or what do we look for?

Thank you brother for the Colossians 3 verses...That Hit the spot for me,
but more views are welcomed
