Infinite Curiosities
Otha L. Turnbough, pastor of Lionheart Church, went viral after urging Christians to pray for Donald Trump rather than speak negatively about him. In his sermon, Turnbough said he believes God is using Trump in ways that may be difficult or uncomfortable for many believers to understand.
He pointed congregants to the Old Testament, noting that God frequently used unexpected and controversial figures to confront evil, execute judgment, and accomplish His purposes. According to Turnbough, these leaders were often misunderstood, resisted, or judged harshly, yet still served a role within God’s sovereign plan.
The pastor encouraged Christians to view political leadership through a spiritual lens rather than an emotional one. He emphasized that Scripture calls believers to prayer, discernment, and trust in God’s authority, especially when His methods challenge human expectations.
