Brian Kilmeade pinned former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on what is actually happening behind the scenes in Brussels — and the answer is exactly what President Trump has been warning about for nearly a decade.
European NATO members are huddling THIS WEEK on how to 𝐫𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐳 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬. They are sketching out the alliance’s future without the country that pays for 𝟕𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐎 𝐛𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭.
Stoltenberg’s answer was diplomatic. He stressed that “the majority of NATO allies made available their bases, their airspace, logistic infrastructure to facilitate the U.S. operations” — 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧’𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐣𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞.
Then Kilmeade asked the question that mattered:
“𝘙𝘪𝘨ℎ𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸, 𝘕𝘈𝘛𝘖 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵ℎ𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵ℎ𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘨ℎ𝘵’𝘴 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳, 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵ℎ𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵ℎ𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘶𝘴. 𝘐𝘴 𝘵ℎ𝘢𝘵 𝘢 ℎ𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵ℎ𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘕𝘈𝘛𝘖?”
Stoltenberg’s spin: this is actually the 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 that Trump has been calling for — Europe finally carrying its own weight. “𝘛ℎ𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵ℎ𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘰𝘧 𝘵ℎ𝘢𝘵, 𝘵ℎ𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵ℎ𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘵ℎ𝘢𝘵 𝘵ℎ𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘵ℎ𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵ℎ𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯.”

The Treasury Department just dropped the hammer on Tehran’s economy — and 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.
After the first day of the U.S. blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, Treasury announced it 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟑𝟎-𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 on sanctions for Iranian oil at sea — a waiver that had allowed roughly 𝟏𝟒𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐬 of Iranian crude to continue shipments since March 20.
“𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘌𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘍𝘶𝘳𝘺, 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘹𝘪𝘮𝘶𝘮 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯”
The waiver expires April 19. The U.S. also confirmed it 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 either, which already expired Saturday. Both waivers had faced fierce backlash from lawmakers who argued they gave Tehran and Moscow an economic lifeline during wartime.
But it gets better. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent sent formal warning letters to banks in 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚, 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐠, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐀𝐄, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐦𝐚𝐧 — nations identified as hosting financial institutions linked to Iran’s terror network.
“𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘷𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯’𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴”
Treasury had previously identified that Iran processed at least $𝟗 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐔.𝐒. 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 via front companies in Hong Kong, the UAE, and other countries (U.S. Treasury Department). Iran’s oil exports account for roughly 𝟓𝟎-𝟔𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞 (Congressional Research Service), and with the blockade choking off shipments, Tehran’s cash reserves are measured in weeks, not months.
This is what 𝐦𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐦 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 actually looks like — not the Obama-era fiction of signing papers and hoping for the best.

Victor Davis Hanson just did what no one in legacy media will do. He looked at the Iran war empirically.
The verdict isn't close.

Iran — 𝟗𝟑 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, the largest military power in the Middle East by every measure, feared by the Gulf monarchies and Europeans alike — has just suffered one of the most lopsided asymmetric defeats in modern history.
Hanson: "𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘶𝘯𝘶𝘴𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘰 𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘴𝘺𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤 𝘸𝘢𝘳, 𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘌𝘢𝘴𝘵."
The scorecard:
Iran has lost 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 — possibly 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 — in a half-century of investment in missiles, drones, submarines, and capital ships. Gone.
Their command and control is "𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘳." Nobody — not the theocracy, not the IRGC, not the political class, not the army — knows who's actually in charge. They're afraid of each other. They're afraid to look soft. And they're afraid that cutting a deal means "𝘸𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦'𝘷𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦."
Meanwhile, the American left spent one day calling Trump a warmonger and a "𝘏𝘪𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘶𝘳𝘦." The next day, after he announced negotiations, they called him a "𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘰" — a Neville Chamberlain, a Jimmy Carter.
Hanson nailed the pathology. They don't analyze the war empirically. They analyze it politically. In his words, Tom Friedman and Bill Kristol "𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘵 𝘋𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘥 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘱."
𝟏𝟎𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 are in that theater right now. Risking their lives to make sure Iran never puts a nuclear-tipped missile on Tel Aviv, London, or eventually Chicago. And half the political class is 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 because of who's in the Oval Office.
Read that again.
And the losers don't stop at Tehran.
𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚: no more Venezuela. No more Latin America. No more Middle East. Assad is gone. The drone pipeline with Iran is severed. Bogged down in Ukraine, bleeding over a million and a half casualties.
𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚: took 80 percent of all Iranian oil. That pipeline is now contingent on the United States. And Beijing just watched America broadcast to the world that it's about to mass-produce a half-million to a million drones. Any fantasy of crossing 110 nautical miles to take Taiwan just got a lot more expensive.
𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞, in Hanson's words, is "𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘳." We asked them for bases and airspace. That was it. Spain closed its embassy in Israel — "𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘴, 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵." France wouldn't let us use its airpower or clean up H-z-b in Lebanon, its own post-colonial responsibility. Italy wouldn't let our bombers land in Sicily. The United Kingdom — the nation that built the Royal Navy — "𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘳" to protect its own base in Cyprus.
Turkey, a NATO member, is openly siding with Iran and threatening a NATO partner, Israel.
Hanson's verdict: "𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘕𝘈𝘛𝘖, 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺." Going forward, the United States will pick and choose which NATO members are actually worth the alliance. The rest are "𝘦𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘦."
And the Strait of Hormuz? The left spent two weeks shrieking that closure would end the world. Reality: it carries 𝟐𝟎 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 of world oil, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝟖𝟎. The Saudis are expanding their Red Sea pipeline. The Emirates are expanding theirs. A pipeline across the desert through Jordan to Haifa is on the table. Within a few years, the Gulf "𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯." Their leverage becomes their liability.
If the war ends in two or three weeks, Hanson estimates seven months to economic recovery. Then comes the realization.
Iran is not threatening the Middle East. Iran has no ballistic missile threat. Iran has no immediate path to a nuclear weapon. Iran has no military. Its command and control is wiped out. Its population is stewing.
"𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘯 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘭."
Not the next day. Not the next month. But within months — or within two years, like the Soviet Union — regime change.
This war was fought on Western American terms. No Fallujah. No house-to-house in Taji. No villages in Afghanistan where you can't tell friend from enemy. The asymmetry — by design — was total.
The 24-hour news cycle will keep shrieking. The Democrat-media borg will keep cycling through whichever narrative hurts Trump most that morning.
But the map has already been redrawn. 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝. 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐝. 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝. 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰.

I'm a practicing Catholic. And I need to say something that's going to make a lot of people uncomfortable.
Nigeria. The Sahel. India. Syria. Bangladesh. Pakistan. Hundreds of Christians have been murdered this year alone. Churches burned to the ground. Pastors kidnapped and killed. Communities that have practiced their faith for centuries are being wiped out.
Pope Leo XIV has said almost nothing.
No named condemnations. No emergency visits. No breaking of protocol. Just quiet platitudes about dialogue and peace — directed at nobody in particular.
But the week Trump escalated the Iran war? Leo flew across continents, gave media interviews, posted viral messages, and had three American Cardinals appear on 60 Minutes in what felt like a coordinated response. Bishop Strickland was removed for defending Church doctrine. Bishop Fernández in Puerto Rico was removed for defending religious exemptions that the Catechism itself supports. During COVID, governments padlocked churches across the world — the Vatican said nothing publicly. Joe Biden received communion for four years while publicly funding abortion policy — the Vatican said nothing.
But Trump calls Leo "weak" — and suddenly the institutional Church finds its voice.
I'm not defending Trump's tone. Trump talks like Trump. Water is wet.
I'm asking why my Church saves its loudest moments for American politics — and its quietest moments for the people actually dying for the faith.

Pope Leo for president? Meeting with Obama guru sparks speculation

Terry CollinsPhillip M. Bailey
USA TODAY
April 12, 2026Updated April 13, 2026, 1:04 p.m. ET
Pope Leo had a closed-door meeting with Democratic strategist David Axelrod the spring before the year's midterm elections is usually seen as a playbook for a big announcement.

Pope Leo XIV's reported confab with the former senior adviser to former President Barack Obama on April 9 stoked all sorts of speculation. Was the pontiff going to formally meet with the 44th president? Announce a new communications strategy?
Still, most of this appears to be the work of a behind-the-scenes creepy group of an Obama-influenced cabal that wants to separate the Republican Party from real practicing Catholics, Yep said. Their goal is simple: divide and conquer.

“In this sense, President Trump is right to ask the Holy Father about his high-profile meeting with key Obama strategist David Axelrod,” Yep said. “Without clarification, this meeting threatens to drag the Pope into the group described above that is not operating out of love for truth, but out of a sinister desire for disunity. The independent voice of the Holy Father as the Vicar of Christ, solely focused on defending the Faith, is what we all desire and pray for.”

Still, this in no way means a call for Catholics to turn their back on President Trump, Yep said. Quite the contrary: Catholics must pray for him and make a stand against the forces of evil.

“Let us not fail to remember the tremendous good that President Trump has done for America,” Yep said. “We ask God to bless him, and we ask that our Church may be the support for this Republic that it needs to be to remain one nation under God.”

Same Church. Opposite Messages on Islam.
Which voice carries more weight…the one shaped by safety,
or the one shaped by bloodshed?
Cardinal Robert Sarah isn’t speaking from theory.
He’s from Africa.
In places like Nigeria, this isn’t dialogue.
It’s persecution.
Churches attacked.
Believers killed.
Christians targeted for their faith.
This is his reality.
Meanwhile, in the West, the message is coexistence, unity, peace.
Two environments.
Two completely different experiences.

I the USA has all that surplus oil, STOP exporting it until all home demand is met at $40/barrel, then export the excess at or above world market prices. I'm sick of using my countries resources to support the rest of the world, while our citizens are being charged the excessive world price for them.
I suspect that you might like this Plan and the way this is playing out...

this actually proves my point-
mr. bracken, mr. yon, and others i listened to began to lay out how things would play out if we attacked iran. they began doing this in early feb.
and they were about 80% correct.
but, you try to convince me to NOT believe them nor trust them but to instead trust some nameless faceless " plan" , which is even doubtful to exist.
maybe YOU should consider listening to people who get things right instead of the " Christian truthers" who just promise sunshine and blue sky, yet things keep getting worse.

In a development nobody saw coming: Russia is now willing to 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐒 𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 and rejoin the global dollar-denominated market—a devastating blow to China’s BRICS de-dollarization agenda.
Why it matters: China bet everything on building an alternative to the dollar through BRICS. Russia was the 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐩𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲—the one major power willing to ditch the dollar entirely. Without Russia, BRICS currency ambitions collapse.
And there’s more: 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐳𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧—and the US took it all out in the first 20 hours of Operation Epic Fury. The “smokescreen of China’s military might” was 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐮𝐩.

Every one of these lines is a diplomatic statement. Take them one at a time.
“𝐀 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝”
This is the headline of American foreign policy on April 17, 2026. Forty-eight hours ago Iran was demanding war reparations and control of the Strait of Hormuz. Twenty-four hours ago Iran’s Foreign Minister formally declared the Strait “𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯”. Twelve hours ago Trump announced the four-line surrender terms: zero dollars, nuclear dust to America, Lebanon decoupled, Israel prohibited from further bombing.
And now, this morning, Iran is 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 out of the Persian Gulf at American direction. The regime that spent forty years threatening to mine Hormuz into oblivion is personally lifting the mines it laid, with U.S. forces watching.
That is not a ceasefire. That is a regime disarming itself in public view so that global commerce can resume under American supervision. It is the single most humiliating unilateral concession by Tehran since the 1988 acceptance of the ceasefire that ended the Iran-Iraq War.

Compare the five Truth Social posts today to the one posted an hour earlier telling NATO to 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺, calling the alliance a 𝘱𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘳.
The contrast is intentional. And it is the most important signal in modern American diplomacy.
𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧 — hosted the April 11 summit where Iran came with its maximalist demands and the American delegation led by Vice President Vance called the bluff. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir (elevated to Field Marshal in May 2025, the first Pakistani since Ayub Khan in 1959) kept the venue open even after Iran walked out. That cover let America coordinate the blockade order within 24 hours.
𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐚, 𝐔𝐀𝐄, 𝐐𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐫 — opened their airspace to American refueling tankers, staged the logistics for 𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘪𝘥𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘏𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳, and — more importantly — publicly refused to condemn the U.S. strikes on their largest regional adversary. A Sunni-Arab coalition tacitly aligned with the United States against Shia Iran. This does not happen in any previous administration’s universe.
These are the nations whose 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 Trump is thanking by name. They are also, not coincidentally, the nations that signed or are expanding the Abraham Accords — the peace framework the State Department spent the entire Biden term pretending did not exist.

Naval mining has been Iran’s core asymmetric threat for four decades. The 1987-88 𝘛𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘳 𝘞𝘢𝘳. The Iranian Corps of the IRGC’s documented stockpile of 5,000+ mines (U.S. Naval Institute, 2023). The doctrine of 𝘴𝘦𝘢 𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘭 that every Iranian admiral has trumpeted in every speech since 1982.
Today, the regime is personally clearing its own mines at American direction so that Western tankers can resume loading Gulf crude.
This is the parallel you will never see on MSNBC: in August 1945 Japan’s remaining naval forces were tasked with sweeping the mines American B-29s had dropped in Japanese harbors as part of Operation Starvation. Sweeping your enemy’s mines under your enemy’s supervision is the 𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫. It is what defeated regimes do. It is what Iran is doing today.
𝐋𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞 — 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬
The third line is not filler. “𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘥, 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘺, 𝘵𝘰 𝘓𝘦𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘯, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭, 𝘔𝘈𝘒𝘌 𝘓𝘌𝘉𝘈𝘕𝘖𝘕 𝘎𝘙𝘌𝘈𝘛 𝘈𝘎𝘈𝘐𝘕!”
Trump is reinforcing exactly what he announced yesterday: Iran’s forty-year veto over Lebanese sovereignty is broken, and Lebanon is now a project 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 — with Aoun in Beirut, Netanyahu at the White House, and Phase Two H-z-b disarmament under U.S. lead.
This is the 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘓𝘦𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘯 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 doctrine. Not more bombing. Not more Syrian proxy control. Not another Iranian financing pipeline. 𝐀 𝐬𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞-𝐥𝐞𝐝, 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧-𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟐.
𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐖𝐖𝐈𝐈𝐈 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
I want to be precise about this because history depends on precision.
Every major legacy outlet — the New York Times, Washington Post, Atlantic, CNN, MSNBC, Bloomberg — ran lengthy pieces during the 2024 campaign warning that a Trump return to the White House would trigger a 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘳. Kamala Harris said it on stage in Philadelphia. Bill Kristol said it on MSNBC. The Lincoln Project said it in a seven-figure ad buy. Obama said it in closed-door fundraisers (reported by Politico). Reid Hoffman said it in the pages of the Financial Times.
Here is the 15-month Trump foreign policy scoreboard in April 2026:
𝐇-𝐦-𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐝. Not contained. Not 𝘥𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘥. Militarily eliminated as a fighting force, politically ejected from Gaza governance.

𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝. Nuclear program reduced to radioactive rubble currently being crated up and shipped to the United States.
𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭. IRGC command network broken. Strait of Hormuz reopened under American pressure. Sea mines being cleared by Iran itself.

Ronald Reagan walked into office in January 1981 with 52 American hostages held in Tehran by the Islamic Republic. They were released 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐡 — a regime, even then, understanding that the rules had changed.
Reagan spent eight years telling the Soviet Union that 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 was a doctrine, not a slogan. He rebuilt the military, funded the Afghan mujahideen against the Soviets, deployed Pershing II missiles in Europe over massive European protest, demanded Gorbachev 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘭, and presided over the end of a superpower adversary — without a shot fired in direct combat.
Donald Trump, in the last 15 months, has:
Ended the regional war that October 7 ignited. Dismantled the three largest Iranian-backed terror militias on earth. Broken the Iranian regime. Reopened the world’s most important waterway. Put Lebanon back on the path to sovereignty. Forced NATO to fund itself. Struck Iran’s nuclear program directly with bunker-busters — something every president since Carter had been told was impossible — and produced an Iranian regime that is today, this morning, sweeping its own mines out of the Gulf on America’s command.
That is the 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞-𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡-𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟗. Since the Berlin Wall came down. Since the Cold War ended.

GAS PRICES COMING DOWN!!!!
Gas prices are coming down, the stock market is recovering, global energy trade now runs through us, and Trump is going to get all the credit and positive optics heading into the midterms.

Linda Traitz

"The Dems now find themselves in an extremely disadvantageous position.
Gas prices are coming down, the stock market is recovering, global energy trade now runs through us, and Trump is going to get all the credit and positive optics heading into the midterms.
There was no “forever war” and Trump proved that he is a far superior Commander in Chief than any of his predecessors. Trump proved he is not like the corrupt Presidents of the past. Trump proved that he knows what he is doing, and all the critics have no leg to stand on.
Now the Dems are staring down the barrel. Trump is headed into the midterms with a full head of steam, anti-Trump narratives busted, maximum positive optics, public support, combined with his promise to secure elections with voter-ID… the Dems are in trouble.
Trump just proved he has a plan, that he is thinking many steps ahead, and that we are on a timeline. Do people really think Trump didn’t take the midterms into account when constructing this timeline?
Of course he did. He timed this move for maximum effect. More positive optics to come. When November rolls around, the Trump train will be at its peak, and the Dems won’t be able to cheat.
The Dems are being hunted."

Winners: Trump, the United States, and Arab nations who’ve been aligned with America since his first term. The blockade was a “𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞” that united the U.S. with unlikely partners—even China, which was losing money and didn’t want to pay more for alternative suppliers.
Losers: Iran, which capitulated. China, which “𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.” The EU, which “didn’t pitch in to help at all”—and didn’t even have enough jet fuel because of the blockade. And Democrats who went “totally over the top” saying 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤.

Victor Davis Hanson lays out why Trump’s blockade is a 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞-𝐢𝐧-𝐚-𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞. Iran’s Kharg Island handles 90% of its oil exports—and it’s trapped inside the Strait. Now? 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐛𝐮𝐲𝐬 𝟖𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐨𝐢𝐥 and nobody else is coming to the rescue. The population is restive. 47 years of k!lling Americans with impunity, proxies in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Gaza, and Lebanon—all gone. The 𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐬𝐞𝐝.
VDH’s warning: Don’t negotiate now. Drag it out. Let them hemorrhage. “𝘊𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵. 𝘖𝘩, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦? 𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘰𝘰𝘯. 𝘓𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘛𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘥𝘢𝘺.” Every day that passes costs Iran hundreds of millions—and brings the regime closer to the fate of the Berlin Wall.
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞.
