That seems to be a tenuous claim.

You don't see a difference between legal peaceful protests and what these Hamas supporters have been doing?

I don't buy that. The US constitution protects citizens rights, not the right for foreigners to come into the country and put on a show as they did. If you are involved in illegal protests (which they were), if you are involved in hate speech (which they were), then the US has every right to deport you. We also have the right to look at student visa applications and approve them or reject them.

In my opinion if the protests are over righteousness as were the protests about Covid or election fraud, then you cannot stop it by deporting a few people. But if these protests are a phony attempt to appear to have a populist movement, remove the agitators and it will fizzle out.

to me, free speech is free speech.

now, if it comes to getting rowdy and attacking others and defacing property is a whole other matter.

They aren't simply rowdy, they shut down campuses so that no one can teach, they censor dissenting voices so that Jews are afraid to walk the campuses or teach classes, geotagging has shown there are "professional" protestors being bused around from one protest to the next, and many of the protestors at these college campuses aren't the students at the campus.

By deporting these bad actors you are not stifling free speech, not like it was during Covid where you were not permitted to even say certain things without your account being suspended. The constitution still protects the right for citizens to protest. Saying that these deportations violate free speech is very deceitful. The people being deported violated the terms of their visas.

I was a little concerned that it might have been a cyber attack as well. I had the same re-direct.

I'm not surprised the Colonel in Pituffik got relieved. She kinda made herself look dumb in that E-mail. Like "I'm not gonna pretend to understand the politics surrounding my base" .... well, you might want to get that sorted out if you're the Commanding Officer; and definitely before you release a statement with your admittedly ignorant opinion.

I'm thinking this is only public campuses? The government can exercise reasonable control on how people behave in government facilities. For example, even I have removed gospel tracts from the lobby of the building I work in because people did not ask permission to put them there. Orderliness in what we (as the church) do, especially in government relations; we should be able to respect spaces with a designated purpose; and protesters should be able to do that too.

I think Rubio has explained it best...
Our Constitutional Freedoms of Speech apply to US Citizens... If you are not a US Citizen (and this guy @Columbia Univ has ties to Hamas and the Oct Attack on Israel) than you are instigating Division (that leads to escalations to riots and violence) and anti-US Propoganda...
They simply do not have the same rights as citizens...
