Interestingly, I didn't see it in the article, but when I watched the interview last night (maybe still in the video) I could of swore that Rob Schmitt asked her about this... she basically conceded your point... but implied my point of the role of a covert SOF/Agency role (albiet she didn't say this part out loud) to work from the inside to attempt to influence and Flip the IRGC from within to empathize a few strong leaders to see/influence them - if they would be willing to support the Crown Prince (Coup) transition for the best interest of the people of Iran and the future of Iran...

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump said he will withhold federal funding for sanctuary cities or states starting February 1.
“Starting February 1st, we’re not making any payments to sanctuary cities or states having sanctuary cities because they do everything possible to protect criminals at the expense of American citizens. And it breeds fraud, crime and all of the other problems that come. We are not making any payments to anybody that supports sanctuary cities,” Trump said.
The president made the comments during remarks at the Detroit Economic Club.
Trump made the comments while talking about investigations into fraud in Minnesota, which he claimed was done by many Somali Americans and said was the reason for “fake” riots against ICE operations in Minnesota.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani responded in a social media post saying, “Our values and our laws are not bargaining chips. We will always defend New Yorkers, even in the face of federal threats to withhold funding.”
Later Tuesday night, during a news conference to appoint a TLC commissioner, Mamdani was asked about whether he had spoken to President Trump about his announcement on sanctuary cities.
“So I reached out to President Trump to express my sharp opposition to this decision and to make my values clear, and I will always continue to do so, whether to the president or to all New Yorkers to be honest about where we actually stand. I have yet to hear back from the president, and this is the position that I hold as the mayor of New York City,” Mamdani said.
Mamdani was also asked about what his plans were if the funds were withheld.
“There are many threats that are made to New York City on a regular basis, and I am confident in our city’ ability to fight those threats back. And we’ve also seen whether it be in the courts or whether it be beyond that our ability to win those fights,” Mamdani said.

Reporter Hannah Natanson was at the property in Alexandria, Virginia, when federal agents arrived Wednesday morning.
The Washington Post journalist was raided as part of a probe into a government contractor accused of illegally retaining classified government materials.
Natanson said her Garmin watch, phone and two laptops were seized during the raid. One of the devices was her personal computer, while the other was issued by the Washington Post.
Investigators told Natanson she is not the focus of the investigation, which is looking into Aurelio Perez-Lugones, a Maryland system administrator who has top secret security clearance.
Perez-Lugones was charged just days ago with illegally retaining classified documents after the FBI searched his home and found intelligence reports inside a lunchbox in his basement in Laurel, about 20 miles from Annapolis, according to an affidavit.
He logged into a classified system and took notes throughout the week on a notepad before taking the pages home with him, according to an affidavit filed Friday.
Perez-Lugones, a 61-year-old Navy veteran, also accessed the databases last fall and took a screenshot of a classified report about a foreign country, the affidavit stated.
'Perez-Lugones had no need to know and was not authorized to search for, access, view, screenshot or print any of this information,' the legal document continued.
During his initial court appearance on Friday, Perez-Lugones was ordered to be held in federal custody pending a detention hearing.
Natanson covers the 'Trump administration's reshaping of the government and its effects,' her profile page states.
According to the outlet, she specifically provides the 'most high-profile and sensitive coverage during the first year of the second Trump administration.'
