Members were sent to cast their own yeas and nays, not to lend their presence as a costume for a colleague who could not be bothered to appear. Censure is the soft option. The chamber that lectures the country about sacred procedure just demonstrated the procedure is optional for the right names.
Tina Peters is serving years over the use of another official’s credentials. Whatever one thinks of her case, the contrast is the story. A clerk gets a cell. A member of Congress gets a talking-point cycle and a possible slap on the wrist for proxy theater that would get a civilian fired. Two-tier process is how people stop believing the word “democracy” when it comes out of that building.
Votes in the House are not a ride-share. If Waters needed to vote, Waters needed to be there. If Jayapal cast a slate under another woman’s identity, the remedy is not a stern memo. Expulsion is on the table because the public already understands the double standard. Election integrity does not start at the precinct. It starts with the people who write the statutes being willing to obey the same rules they impose on a county clerk in Colorado.

FIFTEEN NEW YORK SHERIFFS sued the state over its ICE crackdown on Tuesday (LET'S GO!). But just two days later, Kathy Hochul and Letitia James sued one of those sheriffs for refusing to back down.
The sheriffs are challenging New York's new law prohibiting local agencies from maintaining 287(g) agreements, which allow specially trained local officers to perform certain federal immigration-enforcement duties.
Rensselaer County Sheriff Kyle Bourgault called the law “REALLY dangerous” and said it is “crazy” that sheriffs are being prevented from working this closely with federal law enforcement.
So the sheriffs went to court, as they should, and New York responded FAST.
On Thursday, Hochul and James sued Bourgault because he refused to terminate his county's ICE agreement.
Think about where this has gone.
Fifteen elected sheriffs are suing state leaders for restricting their cooperation with ICE, and state leaders responded two days later by suing one of those sheriffs for refusing to comply.
They aren't arguing anymore. They're officially at war in court.
What an incredible waste of resources just to STOP local sheriffs who WANT to help federal immigration officers enforce the law. The Sheriffs should never have had to SUE just to do their jobs.

He and that famous mustache have agreed to a $2.25 million fine and forfeiture of his federal pension.
This is the same Bolton who cashed in with a tell-all book attacking the president, all while treating America’s most sensitive secrets like diary entries for family. He faced 18 counts; he folded on a single felony that still carries up to 60 months in prison. Sentencing is set for October. Patriots watching this circus have one demand: give him all 60 months. No sweetheart deal, no “he’s sorry now” discount, no retirement-on-the-taxpayer after he put sources, methods, and covert programs at risk.
President Trump’s critics spent years pretending document cases only mattered when they could be used against him. Bolton’s guilty plea rips that mask off. A man entrusted with the country’s most guarded information treated it like personal property, got caught, and now faces real consequences, money, pension, and the possibility of a cell. October is coming. The judge should send the message Washington never wanted to hear: if you endanger the nation and then turn on the president who hired you, you do not get to walk. This week President Trump has:
1. Made corporations pay $103,000.00 for each foreign visa for every foreign employee brought to the USA...
2. Signed largest oil deal in world history w/Venezuela to double US oil reserves, and dramatically lower gas prices...
3. July 2026- most deportations in one month in US history...
4. US murder & violent crime rates are lowest in 100 years...
5. 100% fact that Iran is bankrupt, financially strangled, desperate, starving & economically collapsed because Trump cut Iran off economically from the rest of the world.
6. US stock market at all time highs...
7. Corporate earning & profits at all time highs.
8. Trump opened USDA meat processing to individual American ranchers and farmers creating more competition to drive down meat prices.
Still many are clueless and complain Trump does nothing. As usual if you get all your news from the fake news media- you're fed a steady diet of lies, distortion, misinformation, gaslighting & fraud about President Trump. The reality is President Trump is the G.O.A.T. - and he's steadily working to improve the U.S. markets, lower gas, food and household goods prices, while other politicians steal from the U.S., world leaders work against the U.S., and Iranian hit squads roam the U.S. to assassinate President Trump and his family. A fifty-four percent drop in fentanyl deaths from the peak should dominate every news cycle. Instead the same outlets that treated every earlier spike as proof of systemic failure now treat the reversal as background noise. The chart does not care about narrative. It shows fewer bodies, fewer grieving parents, and a supply line that is no longer running wide open.
Silence from the usual platforms is not accidental. Coverage that once framed every overdose as an indictment of enforcement now disappears when interdiction, precursor controls, and pressure on the cartels produce results. Americans who lost neighbors and relatives during the climb have a right to see the descent reported with the same urgency. They do not need another round of lectures about root causes while the numbers fall.
The work that cut the death rate is unglamorous, stopping the pills at the border, dismantling distribution cells inside the country, and refusing to treat traffickers as a social-services problem. That approach can be measured in lives that were not lost this year. Keep applying it and the lines keep falling. Look away and pretend the data does not exist, and the next surge writes itself.
