And yes, Chief Judge James Boasberg swore him in. That's the same Boasberg Democrats have spent the past year treating as a constitutional superhero.
Honestly, you couldn't design a less MAGA judge in a lab.
So let's walk through the Democrats' theory. Trump's DOJ cooks up a phony case against a sitting congresswoman. Then it walks that phony case in front of a Biden-era, Obama-clerk, Boasberg-sworn magistrate. And he just... signs it?
Weeks before a midterm? Against a sitting Democrat? Knowing every word of that affidavit will someday be dissected on MSNBC?
Sure. Totally plausible.
The likelier explanation is the boring one. Prosecutors brought enough to convince a judge who had every reason to be skeptical that probable cause existed.
None of this will stop the usual routine. Expect cries of election interference, the race card, and "she's being targeted for who she is" press conferences. The bag of tricks never changes.

CNN came looking for a villain in a county that isn't buying it.
