HPV is the most prevalent and also the least dangerous (though it does pu...t one at greater risk for cancer) while syphilis is the least prevalent today. There are 908,000 HIV cases right now in the U.S..

The statistics for the young people are concerning. Half of all new STIs in the country occur among young men and women between the ages of 15 through 24.
 
Sleeping with multiple partners who sleep with multiple partners and so on.... the live for the moment mentality taking its toll.

The other day a lady boasted of over 800 partners it is beyond belief....
 
Not surprising! Honestly...I am shocked it's ONLY that many.
Mankind has such an awesome way of destroying anything it get's it's fat little hands on,and of course we just can't get enough encouragement from the ultimate moron,satan!

I'd heard a long time ago that one out of ever three people have HPV. (Not HIV, it's a different thing.....males carry it but it only effects females.....makes them more prone to cervical cancer).

but AoK...they told us all about SAFE SEX.
they encouraged our children to have AS MUCH sex as possible.
they just KNEW people would use condoms, and be perfectly fine.

I don't know. 110 million out of a population of 314 million (ages 0 thru 110) is a pretty high rate. The U.S. census lists ages 16 and over as 243 million people in the U.S..

'And/or HIV' lol that part made me laugh.

The number of HIV infections would be dramatically less than that total figure for STD's, and the high majority of those STD's are gonna be Chlamydia and Gonnorhea, which are completely curable.

Chlamydia is easily spread and there are virtually no symptoms in most people, so that '20 million' new cases a year sounds about right.

Sensationalist media makes this sound much worse than it actually is.

People can live in the moment and be the happiest, most reverent, kind and loving people on earth. It's the mindset and outlook of what a person should 'do' in that moment that is the real problem.
 
And/or simply allows for both or either in an individual. If you had bothered to read the study you would have realized that your post was completely unnecessary.

The study clearly shows that 103,200,000 cases of the total 110,197,000 cases are either HPV or HSV-2.

The article was shared to inform not to sensationalize or deceive and what you ommitted is that while both the HPV and HSV-2 are easily treatable today, the fact is that both can also be dangerous if left untreated and most people who are infected do not know it.

HPV causes cellular changes that can lead to cancer of the cervix in women and anal cancer in gay men. Cervical cancer kills about 5000 women per year. Anal cancers are about 35 times more common in gay men than the general population as a result of HPV. In fact epidemiologic studies have proven that a major risk factor for the development of preinvasive or invasive cervical cancer and anal cancers is HPV infection. HPV can lay dormant for years. Even in long-term monogamous relationships, genital warts or cervical changes can occur without an obvious infectious event.

HSV-2 has no cure. Yes, medication can suppress symptoms and lower the chances of passing the virus on; however, without treatment HSV-2 can be spread at any time. If one is pregnant and have untreated HSV-2, they can transmit the virus to their fetus causing brain damage, blindness, and death in the newborn baby if a miscarriage or premature birth doesn't occur. In untreated adults there is an increased risk for HIV infection, risk for neurological complications, and risk for spreading the infection to other parts of the body. Since most people infected with herpes display no noticeable symptoms the disease often goes undetected and untreated.

Because so many are infected and don't know it, the situation is obviously more serious than you made it out to be. It's really not a laughing matter.

No, the report didn't say that. Why does everyone on this forum automatically believe these statements without checking further. It says: "CDC’s new data suggest that there are...110 million total STIs among men and women across the nation. How about using the correct word, ie 'suggest' does not mean there are actually 110 million." It would appear, or apparently, means the same as suggest. In other words there is no conclusive evidence this research hypothesis is true. Approximate does not mean suggest, in any event.

It is likely the less severe stds will be significantly over-represented, too. 110 million is the same as saying 1 in 3 people who you know will have an std. So it's saying one family in every three may have a family member with an std. So this includes Christian families? Are children taken into account also, what about the elderly, as these make up the population numbers, too. This is just total garbage. Where is the raw data, what is the sample mean, what is the population mean, what is the standard deviation. By standard deviation, how close is the sample average (the mean) to the population average.

Good catch.

I don't know what the real data is behind this report (it could all be perfectly solid) but I think the CDC has been caught a few times hyping things up... for funding. So it's always best to check the facts.


Anyway, I'm sure there are plenty of STDs... but I don't know who'd wanna go around measuring them.
