Hi, my name is max. i am new(ish) to the christian religion and i hope i am welcome here.

a few things for backround information:

I turned to Christianity after a prayer of mine was answered following a suicide attempt. things turned around for me, and i promised i'd take gods hand and let him guide me through the hard times while i am still under the roof of a satanistic mother.

I'm not exactly sure what my mother practices, though . . . all i know is that she despised christians, ripped out the pages to a bible, and drew a male...uh..yknow on the forhead of my rosary of jesus christ. she also once made a blood star using self-inflicted wounds to curse her ex-husband. its scary here, in other words !

but, i want to turn my life around and live as a christian. its very hard for me to repent in certain ways (such as my vaping addiction, laziness/depression, and uh. bedroom stuff that im not gonna name.) and i'm looking for advice on taking the baby steps. a few questions i have for pastors, lifelong christians, or generally people who are more advised on the bible than i am, considering i cannot own one:

1. how can i involve christ i my daily life properly? is it just general acts of kindness, or something more?
2. if i ever do read the bible, how do i understand all of the complex words and their definitions? is there a copy of the bible with easier phrases that still has the same message?
3. will god still forgive me if i can't manage to repent from sin before death, knowing that i was trying my best the whole time?

Hi maxxx you are certainly welcome here at CC! Those are some great questions and I don't have time now (7 puppies I'm rehoming) but remember we all are prone to sin and in Christ God forgives us, that's why He sent our Savior. Love God and love your neighbor Jesus' last 2 commandments. God bless & keep you and I'll pray over your household🙏🙌

Pray to Jesus, guide you to faithful true Christians in your local area, get involved with pure and Holy activities, such as good Bible study group, hiking with church friends.

Stay away from any form of immorality, any form of unclean spiritual worship.

Read Bible verse out loud and pray to Jesus everyday. He will guide you one day at a time.

One day at a time. God be with you.

HI! Max.

After reading what you've wrote. I just wanna say that I understand what your feeling and going through so my heart goes out to you.

Has for your first question 1; I'll try to make it has simple as i can: All you need to do is grow your faith and spiritual needs.

Matthew 6:33 = But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Seeking God is a spiritual need/hunger.

Second question 2; I would recommend the ESV bible and for looking up original translation or definitions, I recommend BibleHub.com since it gives you indept context and definitions. Of cause, your free to use a bible dictionary as well.

Question 3; it says in 1 John 1:9 = If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The key here is choosing to believe His words over our own ability or strength to be in right standing with God. And that is faith being practiced or exercised.

Hebrew 11:6 = And without faith it is impossible to please Him [God], for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that He [God] rewards those who seek Him.

Again, faith is a choice and it's the first foundation of walking with God.

I tried to keep it has simple as possible but I'm happy to provide examples or explain further if you want.

Main focus is growing your faith and fulfilling your spiritual needs through God.

And God is gonna pick you up every time you fall and condemnation is not from God, conviction is.

Anyways, Hope this somehow helps, God bless 🙌

Welcome Maxxx, you are asking questions that many newish Christians ask, although you seem to have more problems than most do.

God does not punish us for continuing to sin however He does want us to work to repent and stop sinning. In that regard, I would suggest not trying to stop all the activities you feel are wrong, but to focus on one at a time. Taking on too many at once almost guarantees failure, just because you lose focus too easily, one at a time works far better, a lesson from AA.

As for unfamiliar words in the Bible, you can likely find a Bible Dictionary that will give you some assistance, and there are various other resources beyond that, but a Bible Dictionary would likely be a good startting point.

What you need to do is start with the 4 main gospels that are John, Matthew, Luke and Mark. WHY? simply they contain the words of Christ that HE spoke during his ministry, His words are simple and you will understand what he said. He wants us to do to have eternal life. the best way to get closer to Jesus is read about him HIS WORDS First and above all else, you cant go wrong if you listen to him and DO what he tells us to do. Reading the bible is not complicated, its men who make it complicated. As for forgiveness, repentance is not instant, give it some time and do your best ASK GOD in the name of Jesus to help you and he will if you believe and GOD does forgive but we also have to forgive ourselves also and let the guilt go.

If you have questions just Ask! and

Welcome to Christian Chat.

Go back and prayerfully read my response to you under your prayer request. That's the honest truth. You are still basing salvation on good works. You cannot be saved by mixing what Jesus did with what you do.

Romans 11

6And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
