So good that the Lord led you to CC where you can connect with fellow believers and get Biblical advice. One of my favorite Scriptures for the present time is 'Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done' Phil 4:6. That makes sense because worry is futile and praying is advantageous.
I was a carnal Christian for a few years and looking back I feel like my brain was on vacation and I would never go back to that lifestyle. God bless you and ask the Lord for help, I did and He did❣

I'm sorry to hear about the anxiety that you've been struggling with, but happy to hear that you've been talking to God about it.
BTW, finally walking away from the ways and darkness of this world was too much for me to handle, but it certainly wasn't for God, and He can do the same thing for you. If you have questions about how to become a Christian (or anything else), just ask away, as there are a LOT of people here who are willing to listen and answer them for you.

The only cure for anxiety is "the Prince of Peace", Jesus Christ.
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)
Similarly, the only way to overcome the darkness of this world is through "the light of the world", Jesus Christ.
"Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12)
Your spiritual status says "unsure", but that can change in an instance.
Jesus Christ willingly offered himself as the Lamb of God or as a substitutionary sacrifice to pay for your sins on the cross of Calvary. Not only that, but he rose from the dead three days later, having defeated death, and he is now seated at the Father's right hand in heaven as the only mediator between God and men.
If you are willing to repent of your sins and to put your faith in Christ's atoning sacrifice on your behalf and his resurrection from the dead, then you can be saved from your sins while inheriting the gift of eternal life through saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Romans chapter 10
[6] But the righteousness which is of faith speaks on this wise, Say not in your heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above)
[7] Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
[8] But what says it? The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
[9] That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.
[10] For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
[11] For the scripture says, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.
[12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
[13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
