I disagree with the whole, "the statues are unconstitutional" nonsense, however if removing the statues help promote healing and good faith, then I'm all for it. Then again, when's the last time any government agency promoted solidarity among the masses. The government likes to keep us divided and conquered.

Generals Lee and Beauregard were men of honor. Those who would remove their statue and spurn their memory are not.

One of the cool parts about history is that it is bothersome. If it isn't bothersome in some way, then you have nothing to learn.

They should have kept that bust of Stalin at the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia. Stalin was, perhaps, the most evil dictator in all of human history, but he stubbornly insisted that the Western Allies push through northern France. That made him a vital part of the strategic planning process. As such, he deserves to be recognized every bit as much as the others for his contributions.

All of this white washing is dangerous and shows a clear, weak-willed, surrender to the Marxist-Leninists of our time. If you seek to live in a virtuous Republic where the inherent dignity of man and his fallen nature are recognized, you are better off not joining the chorus of Social Justice warriors and similar malcontents.

This all began with the shooting in SC. The issue is this, you can change every Confederate name,statue,flag in the country and you wont change the heart full of hate.This president has done more to divide the country then most who have come before him. Communists have done the same thing,erased history. Only God can change a heart. Its wrong to erase history. Add more black statues of men and women,those who helped on the underground train.

A young woman attended our church for a few months, she was Japanese. We tried to befriend her,she was studying in the area. She knew just a little English. We asked what she would remember most about the US,what impressed her.She said "Pearl Harbor" We asked her why. She simply said she had read all the names of the dead and then she said "I so sorry,I not know,I not know." She was almost in tears. Dont whitewash history! Teach kids the truth,talk about it,debate it. Pulling down statues is PC but changes nothing. It just takes away history and the reminder of why we had to change.
 
You are right in that nothing can change a heart like God and the love of God can. Such love cannot be legislated. I don't think it is about erasing history so much as it is about stopping the overt or perceived celebration of those who perpetrated and fought for the continuation of man's inhumanity to man...

the Statue of Liberty represents freedom, opportunity, peace ,cultural diversity and the various other principles that America stands for. Confederate monuments do not....wrong again Sir. ..nice try though
 
Ehh, this is nothing new. They have been removing crosses, Ten Commandment tablets, manger scenes and 'in God we trust' out of public places for some time now...guess we Christians are in good company.:rolleyes:

Some here don't understand the creeping Totalitarian mind set that is happening in this country.

Be careful. To some, the American flag itself is a symbol of oppression, broken promises, racism, colonialism, slave trade, and the like. The crowd that you hang your hat with on eradicating reminders of southern history is, generally, the same crowd that has it in mind to turn on Old Glory, the Lincoln memorial, and Fenway Park.

Well its sure as blinking well is not being taught in schools. It doesn't stop racism,it doesn't change a heart.Its just another empty PC gesture that means nothing.

Right! There has already been talk of the flag and what it represents. It will be the next thing to go.
