Hello All, I am new to this and hoping I am doing the right thing.
I have been married for almost 10 years, blended family, he has a 17 year old and I have a 23 year old.
It was never his and hers, it was always ours.

Now that our teen is 17, things are changing. We live out of state and now it is more like "out of sight, out of mind". I have been blessed, I always mattered and now it seems I do not. For the first time in 10 years I am feeling like a Step Mom.

Our daughter wants to go on vacation with her boyfriend and his family. My husband and I feel that this is inappropriate and my husband talked with our daughter's mom and she feels the same way. Once the message was delivered to our daughter, things changed. Our daughter is very upset, (understandable, this age it is all about them, their friends and boyfriends), it has been turned on us and only us, her mom claims she is open to letting her go. As the second mom, my opinion is at the bottom, but I am very disappointed and very frustrated that we are at this point. My husband is now having different feelings as well. He is also not being 100% with me, he seems to be changing his own opinion.

Our daughter is struggling with the word "NO" and the biological parents are struggling with hurting our daughter's feelings. When we raised my daughter together, it was a two way street and we worked well my husband and I, there were tough times, but we stuck to our guns and go through it.

I don't know where I am going with this, I just need some prayer and advice.
Do I just step a side? Thank you.....

No isn't so hard to say if you are in the right. A parent should never be ashamed of saying no for feelings sake. If the Lord said yes to everything we desire we would be condemned to hell in no time flat. May Jesus bless you.

If you want her to hear you, you must hear her. Go to her personally, sit down, and ask her why she wants to go, and listen to everything she has to say. After she is done, tell her why you say its a bad idea, and that you love her and want only the best for her, she will hear you. By all means do not start an argument. You may want to pray before you talk to her coz the Holy Spirit will give you the wisdom you need. I hope it works out, God bless
