Police groups are saying they're not going to protect. Yeah. But stadiums are still filling. Show me please the facts that ratings are plummeting? If viewership isn't shrinking, the NFL doesn't care.

Are you telling me, in your opinion, I'm going to be forced to cheer for KC or The Steelers for NE to lose? You keep giving me bad news man. I live in KC but I can't stand the Chiefs. Probably because I live in KC and am not a Cheifs fan. Sigh.
It was embarrassing being a Dolphins fan. Only reason why the score got close was because the Pats had to resort to a 3rd string qb. This has always been the case with Tannehill. His stats look good in garbage time playing catch up. I've been a fan of his and defended him don't think I can be anymore. I know it was on the road in Seattle in week one against that defense, but the offense wasn't any better for that. Thankfully, this week is the home opener against the Browns, the worst team in the league, with a third string qb. After blowing a 20-0 lead at home. Surely can't mess that up... Then again, this is the same team that was 8-6 a few years ago and all had to do was win one of their final 2 games to get into the playoffs, and they blew it. So who knows. *Irritated fan rant over*.
I usually take home teams on Thursday night games (thought the Bills would have beaten the Jets) but with the Pats having to play a third string qb on a short week that has had no reps , especially against one of the better defenses, I think Houston is primed to win. I know the Pats went on the road to start the season and beat the Cardinals, but this is a different situation.

I knew this was coming when the NFL informed me I no longer knew what a "catch" is...this may be the last season to enjoy.
Which is why I think the bad officiating has more to do with people turning away than the protesting of the anthem. People can only put up with incompetent for so long before finally saying they can't anymore. I know I didn't watch a single snap of the Monday night game, or even Sunday night game for that matter. But it had nothing to do with the protests, as I had watched the early afternoon games.

It should be relatively easy to find out, the PC antics of this year verses the rule changes, and over officiating of the past few years. How has the viewership declined in the say 3 years compared to this season? Maybe a way to see the trend.

I know I used to be much more dedicated to wasting hours on games I did not really care about. Not so much nowadays...I still think it's fun to watch, but I get irritated when they tell me what I used to know is a catch, or a fumble, or pass interference is no longer the same thing.

Agree that if the NFL took a hit in the wallet they would do that. But, they would probably not publicly put them in line, it'd be a memo or an email...
