Mat 12:33
Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Making the tree do good or evil, is doing work. Else doing is not doing, and work is not work. As a tree is known by it's fruit, a man is known by his deeds. Only by Faith alone without works, does a person deny we are what we do.

Faith Alone without works has fruit alone without deeds: A vain fruit show. Production without work, produces nothing. Else production is not production, and work is not work.

Productive non-work, is not productive work. Faith Alone without works, is dysfunctional even in the natural things.

Jas 2:18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Without faith there is no fruit. Without works, there is no faith nor fruit.

Jas 2:18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast fruit, and I have works: shew me thy fruit without thy works, and I will shew thee my fruit by my works.

Jas 2:18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast love, and I have works: shew me thy love without thy works, and I will shew thee my love by my works.

Love of the Spirit without works, is only lip-service.

1Jo 3:18
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Mat 15:8
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Faith without works is a heart without faith. Fruit without works is with the lips alone.

James 2:15
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

A spirit that has no works, has a faith without spirit.
Tell me one Bible verse that says "works of the Spirit".

Like Adam and Eve, all they did was pluck it off the plants.
Gen 2:15
And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

It's one thing to be blind to the spiritual nature of God's works, and of man created in His image. It's even worse to make yourself ignorant of the nature of work itself.

Tending takes work. Plucking takes work. Producing takes work. No work, no producing, no plucking, no tending.

Faith Alone without works is spiritually and naturally dysfunctional.

Yes, God rewards works. That is not the proof of salvation.
Earthly rewards for work is proof of natural sowing and reaping.

Heavenly rewards for work is proof of justification by works.

Blindness of the spiritual nature of good and evil works, is ignorance of the eternal reward of resurrection from the dead for doing good and not evil.

You get salvation back to front and you therefore have no assurance of salvation. It does not depend on you,
And of course, all Faith Alone salvation reduces itself to not being judged by their works.

Rom 2:3
And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

If the sinner knows their works are not justified with God, then how much more Jesus Christ the righteous.

2Co 5:9
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

it is entirely dependent on the finished work of Christ at Calvary.
No sinner is justified with God by having the innocent unjustly killed, much less by crucifying Jesus Christ the righteous.

Jhn 15:24
But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

Worse, you try to convince others of your foolishness.
Worse, you think I'm trying to convince you of your foolishness.

That horse left with your blind rejection of the spiritual nature of God and men's works.

1Co 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him:

You get salvation back to front and you therefore have no assurance of salvation. It does not depend on you, it is entirely dependent on the finished work of Christ at Calvary. Worse, you try to convince others of your foolishness.

How can anyone believe they are justified with the righteous God, when they know themselves, that their own works are not justifiable?

2Th 2:10
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

All Faith Alone ideology is reduced to one delusional thing: Because I know that my works are not justifiable, therefore I need to be justified by my Faith Alone.

1 Peter {1:15}
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear:

How can anyone believe they are justified with the righteous God, when they know themselves, that their own works are not justifiable?
Romans 4:4-8 KJV
4) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
6) Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
7) Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8) Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Much love!

It does not depend on you, it is entirely dependent on the finished work of Christ at Calvary.
Jesus dying on the cross depended on us killing Him. Otherwise, He had not died on a cross.

The finished work of Jesus at the cross, is the condemnation of all men that sin against Him.

Psa 51:4
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
Act 2:22
Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

No sinner is saved and justified by Jesus Christ dying on a cross by sinful men's hands. Believing in Jesus' death on the cross, is no better than the devils, that had Him killed, who also believe and tremble.

Only those believing in Jesus' resurrection, to repent of sinning against Him, are justified from having Him crucified.

Rom 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 4:25
Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Romans 4:4-8 KJV

To justify a man, is to make his works righteous. Justifying a man that is doing unrighteousness, is unjust judgment.

How can any man, that knows his own works are unrighteous, be justified by the righteous judge.

When any man says his own works are unjustifiable, he knows he is not justified by Jesus Christ the righteous.

Only an unjust judge justifies a man, who knows his own works are wicked.

Romans 4:4-8 KJV

God justifes the ungodly from their ungodly deeds.

Mat 1:21
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

The righteous Lord does not justify the ungodly with their sinful deeds.

Nah 1:3
The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked:

Job 10:14I
If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.

Faith Alone justification without works, is Faith Alone justification with sinful works. Faith Alone justifies the ungodly with their sinning.

Unless any Faith Alone Christian wants to say they do no works at all, which is sin for not doing good. Or, they do no evil at all, but only good.

No Faith Alone Christian has ever said the former for themselves, and all Faith Alone sinners say the later is impossible, and inhumanly proud. Instead, all Faith Alone Christians loudly proclaim their continued sinning with justification, as still being only human.

I'm sorry, I'm not following you . . . you seem to be saying two things at once that conflict.

To be perfectly clear . . . no amount of works will other obtain or add to your justification, which is given you based on your . . . faith alone.

Afterward, we who are regenerate based on their faith alone go on to do those good works.

Much love!

If ignorance is bliss, you must be most happy. I'll not respond to you any further. You have your own concept of salvation and it's not Biblical.

Tell us one Bible verse that says you are saved by "faith alone".
It does not say that we are saved by faith. Why is it that people are so focused on what we must do? You really think that we are that good? We are saved by grace, and even our faith is the faith of Jesus, not ourselves. We are not saved by works.

You also do not know the difference between the initial, born again experience and the salvation of the soul. I've tried to explain it here a number of times. The problem is that it leaves no room for boasting, which displeases the self righteous greatly.

I've said this before also, but no, it leaves no room for boasting so it's ignored.
"For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!" Romans 5:10

Do you not see? Salvation really is of God ".....And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’" Acts 2:21. I don't see any mention of works there. Likewise Romans 10:9

You think works save you? Think again. You think God is impressed with your deeds? God is only pleased with Jesus. He declared that to be so from heaven. Now if you are born again, you died and your life is hidden in Christ with God. If you are dead, how can you work?

James{2:21}
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Abraham never got to offer his son because the Lord intervened (Genesis 22).

So I would not use that as an example of works.

Ultimately, James stresses the point that works perfect your faith.

James is effectively identifying what a genuine faith is.

So if someone in church looks hungry take them out to dinner.

Thus you have perfected your faith.

Simple stuff.

At least you acknowledge confession with the mouth is a work, but since it contradicts your Faith Alone ideology, it also must be excluded from your own salvation and personal Christianity.

Rom 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

This is a clear example of how Faith Alone justification is nothing more than believing what people want. Since they believe they are justified by their own faith alone, then whatever they believe must be true, and whatever they say must be the words of God.

So, if they believe and say something enough times, with enough agreement among themselves, then anyone disagreeing must be to them a heretick, including the Scripture of Jesus Christ.

This was the same case with Jewish priesthood and teachers after hundreds of years, that they condemned the Scriptures' promised Messiah Himself. Why? For preaching against their own justification by Law Alone.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A free gift cannot be earned.

Salvation is that free gift.

Never look at your own Christian life as if, some how, you contributed to your own salvation.

Boast in Jesus Christ.

If you say you love your wife, but do nothing for her, but only talk about it, then you don't love her. Your love must be lived out to be true. Now that doesn't mean there aren't seasons in which you drift closer or even further apart.
That is one tough post of yours.

That's hitting below the belt.

All the best in trying to get him to agree with that. I've given up.

He is completely unwilling to understand anything. Some members of the Church of God Anderson and similar holiness traditions can be very difficult to reason with, depending on the individual. In some cases, people focus so much on their own sense of spiritual perfection that they are closed off to other interpretations. A perfectionist mindset like that makes it nearly impossible to have a productive discussion, because they already believe their interpretations are correct and everyone else is wrong.

Yes. I write as much for other believers as I do to debunk the false doctrines. Some of the false sounds reasonable until you dig deeper into the Word.

No you have the sin of presumption.

If works complete faith as James teaches then by definition so with alone is insufficient. It would help you if you knew what sufficient meant
