Another perspective, like others who say just the opposite of what is said, or maybe the plain verse needs some slant on it to make it more interesting? This is what I’m learning on this platform. …. Not good!

It’s like calling good things bad, and bad things good. I’ve been called out because I’m using verses to uphold truth, whenever I see obvious error; I’ve been trampled on— a supposed Christian used profanity against me, denying that it was profanity and was just common language (it’s what I call common, gutter lingo), but only one person reprimanded him. Only one!?! I called him out about the profanity, then he strikes back by calling me names. This is a supposed long time member on this site. Shameful!!

Notice he never addressed the actual verse you raised. I have found this to be a typical way of dealing with the issues raised. Don't address them just rinse and repeat the same old tired phrases.

So much for discussion.

Yep, I’m finding people don’t seem to read them. They often say the opposite of what God said. Their upholding man made traditions of human doctrines.

Yes interpretation is needed with study. You may be deceived

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. The world cannot receive the Spirit of truth, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.

Dont know about Lutherans but as for Calvin your either chosen or your not so just live and hope since you have no choice. I asked a Calvinist once if they were one of the chosen. Their reply was to ask if I was. So I guess they didnt know?
