  • at the gates – where people of other cities negotiated (see Nehemiah 13:19,20) and by where enemies could raid more easily. Although we need the commerce, we ought to learn to live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 3:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38). After all, no one can serve two masters (the Creator and mammon – Matthew 6:24) and the mark of the beast has to do with trade (Revelation 3:16,17). We can’t leave out that Jesus said that the last days would be like the days of Lot (among other things, people bought and sold - Luke 17:28).

    So, may the wisdom of Jesus be evident in us while we working with the hands the thing which is good, so that we may have something to give to whom needs (Eph 4:28).

  • at the entry of the city – where the judgments took place (Deu 16:18; Deu 21:19; Rth 4:1; Job 29:7). Although many rules are dishonest, the will of the Creator always prevails:
    • “The king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah as the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He will.” (Pro 21:1).

      No plan of the Creator can be thwarted (Job 42:2; Isa 43:13). He is sit on the throne in the heaven and all things are positioned in relation to it (Revelation 4).
    • “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Rom 8:28).

      It is up to us perceive His wisdom in all our ways (Proverbs 3:5-8).



  • at the coming in at the doors - where should be written the commandments of the Creator (Deut 6:9; 11:20). We can see Jesus’ wisdom in every home, whether judging the wicked or disciplining and blessing the righteous.
    And what about our home? People are seeing the will of the Creator or our desire?

Summarizing: the human being is the cause of their own perdition and they cannot pretend ignorance, for the Creator calls everyone by His word and His works to follow virtue and flee from vice.
