From what I see, you're attempting to make the NT fit your OT paradigm. But the issue is that Scripture teaches that OT needs to be understood through Christ. Not the other way around. You keep posting OT Scriptures to try to argue against clear NT Scriptures. While ignoring the clear NT Scriptures! It seems to me like you think the OT is more important than the NT Scriptures?

Basically, this mindset would lead Gentiles to believing they can't understand the NT Scriptures without being Jews. You have to use Jewish words, Jewish understanding, etc. And that is exactly what Paul publicly rebukes Peter for. Giving Gentiles even the hint of an idea that being a Jew is better than being a Gentile.

Even Jews don't live like Gentiles. Paul himself says to the Jews, more or less, I'm a better Jew than you are! And I count it all as rubbish just so I could gain Christ. Christ is the cornerstone. He is the foundation. He is the surpassing greatness. Every single prophet or hero of the OT looked longingly for our day. In Christ, everything else passes away. He is the standard not the Old Testament.

Rom. 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

1 Cor. 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

Acts 26:
19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Rom. 12:
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Eph. 2:
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of (mans) works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

This is a perfect example of "wresting the scriptures" of what Paul teaches. He most certainly does not "Refute" Law Keeping" as these and many more of his Words teach. Are these the scriptures you claim folks "toss out"?

He did refute the Priesthood "Works of the Law" for the atonement of sins though. Teaching that it isn't these "Deeds of the Law" given to the Levites by God through Moses which justified mankind, rather, Faith in the saving Grace of the Christ.

But Paul teaches all mankind to be "Faithful" to God by not just "hearing" His instructions as did the Mainstream Preachers and those who followed them in His time, but those who Loved Him enough to "DO" what He says.

Paul is quite clear on that as was the Word which became Flesh.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

This is why Zechariahs and Abraham knew who Jesus was when He came to them and the Mainstream Preachers, the Pharisees, did not.
More ignoring of context, ignoring of Scriptures that I've posted. And more of simply making Scripture say what you want. When you want to discuss entire passages of Scripture with a proper Bible translation. Come see me. Paul didn't send post it notes of verses to his flock, he sent entire letters.

I've noticed that too. It makes sense though because Paul clearly refutes law-keeping. So they get to the point, that they either let the Scripture transform their interpretation or they toss out what doesn't agree.
Such people are having a difficult time making the transition from the old covenant to the new covenant and end up mixing law and grace. :cautious:

It is still here, but for those in Christ we are dead to the Law. Yes or no?
Ok if it;s still there then nothing has passed rom the Law:

Mat 5:18, "I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh; the smallest of the letters will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected."

Revelation 21:1, "I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away."

those in Messiah are dead the the law of sin... that is not the Law of YHWH...

Romans 6:16, "Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, you are servants of the one whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?"

Romans, “6:1-2, "What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin* that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?"

*What is sin, that we may not continue in it and thus have “died to sin”?

1 John 3:4, "Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law."

Romans 8:2, “Because through Yahshua Messiah, the Law of the Spirit has set me free from the law of sin and death.”

Romans 7:14, “For we know that the Law is spiritual...”

Romans 8:5-8, "For those who live according to the flesh, set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit, set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against; (bitterly opposed to), YHWH; for it is not subject to the Law of YHWH, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are of the flesh cannot please YHWH."

What is the flesh opposed to? Following YHWH's Law? Rejecting YHWH's Law?

“the carnal mind is enmity against; (bitterly opposed to), YHWH; for it his not subject to the Law of YHWH, nor indeed can be”

2 Peter 3:15-17, "and reckon the patience of our Master as deliverance, as also our beloved brother Sha’ul (Paul) wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him, as also in all his letters, speaking in them concerning these matters, in which some are hard to understand, which those who are untaught and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the other Scriptures. You, then, beloved ones, being forewarned, watch, lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the delusion of the lawless,"

There you go again posting a bunch of out of context Scriptures. Most of them are teaching exactly the opposite of what you're saying.

And you ignored me again. Are we dead to the law in Christ - yes or no?

your hilarious. you only quote and seemingly accept Paul wont touch a=on any verse that does not "prove" your view and could not have read my post because I did answer you:

those in Messiah are dead the the law of sin... that is not the Law of YHWH...
then I showed verses that show the difference between the law of sin and the Law of Yah, the Law of Yah is Spiritual, the carnal man is in oppisition to it...

so heaven and earth are not gone but the Law is ignored... OK...

and the Law is written on the heart and that means to ignore it... ok...

Hey Cee remember when we talked about Hebrews 4 and I spent over 45 mins posting a multi post reply and in 3 mins you said I was wrong without refuting anything.... yeah I do, I should have known you would not touch any verse that shows different than "the Law is bad and evil, we are free from the Creators ugly COmmands" Meanwhile:

Revelation 12:17, “And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the Commands of יהוה and possessing the Witness of יהושע Messiah."

1 John 5:2-3, "By this we know that we love the children of Yah, when we love Yah and guard His commands. For this is the love for Yah, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy."

Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Aḏam did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Revelation 14:12-13, “Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the Commands of יהוה and the Belief of יהושע. And I heard a voice out of the heaven saying to me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Master from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, in order that they rest from their labors, and their works follow with them.”

1 John 3:24, “And the one guarding His commands stays in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He stays in us, by the Spirit which He gave us.”

Mat 22:37-40, “Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. (Deut 6:5) This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Lev 19:18) On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

No you're hilarious, I am starting to think you've ripped all the letters of Paul out of your Bible, lol.

And bro, you post the same Scriptures over and over and over. And they aren't in context. This isn't a discussion to me.

Yes inwardly. Not through observance to a Law that was given to Moses. We are Jews by faith.

Here's the next 2 verses to that Scripture.

15We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; 16yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

Like I said, Peter and Paul didn't try to be justified by works of the Law. They sought to be justified by faith. This was Paul's biggest contention against showing preference to Jews. It caused Gentiles to want to be like them. But Peter & Paul actual Jews by birth didn't even live like Jews, themselves. Because they understood no one is justified living by the Law. Christ is now here. And the Law has served it's purpose. To shut up all in sin, so that He might have mercy on them in Christ.
You only think this way because you have been convinced that the "Law of Works" and the "Law of Faith" are the same. But they are not as Paul said.

Rom. 3:
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

The Messiah Himself said the Pharisees, those who Paul was arguing with, were following parts of the instructions given to them by God, but had omitted the most important part of God's instructions.

Matt. 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

They had their version of the Levitical Priesthood "Works of the Law" for atonement of sins down, but rejected the "LAW of FAITH" which was also given to them by Moses.

Num. 18:26 Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.

But they rejected these parts of God's instruction as the Messiah said.

33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.
34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: Iam the LORD your God, (Word which became Flesh) which brought you out of the land of Egypt.

These are part of the Law of Mercy, Judgment and Faith that they rejected.

This was in fact the biggest contention between Paul and the Jews. The end of an obsolete Priesthood, replaced by a New Covenant that the Messiah, as the Word, promised in Jer. 31.

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

No more Levite Priests to administer God's Instructions.

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

No more Levite Priests to perform "Works of the Law" for the cleansing of sins.

Heb. 7:
11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

The Messiah is the High Priest which replaced the Levitical Priesthood. But He was from Judah, not a Levite. So the Law was "Changed" to allow Him and anyone who He brings into His Fold to enter the Holy of Holies.

No mention of the destruction of God's Commandments, no mention of the rejection of His Sabbath. All that talk is from religious man. The Bible does not support such doctrines, at least if one takes ALL God's Word's into consideration.

What part of a man is dead to the Law? The Flesh that hates God? Or the repentant mind that is to Love God which has been renewed?

Rom. 7:
5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit,( alive) and not in the oldness of the letter. (Dead in our sins)

So who shall we SERVE CEE? The Baptist Church, Jack Van Impe, the Pope, our own mind as did Eve?

Or is our flesh crucified with the Christ, no longer directing our footsteps, and we now "SERVE the Law of God" with our Mind which brings forth "Works Worthy of Repentance" as Paul taught all Mankind.

Acts 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

not the only purpose, it is also to show us how to love Yah and love our fellow human:

Mat 7:12-14, "Therefore, all things you want men to do to you, do the same to them, for this is the (intent of the) Law and the Prophets. Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who go that way. Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way which leads to life, and few there are who find it."

Mat 22:37-40, "Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. (Deut 6:5) This is the first and greatest commandment. But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Yah has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked. Beloved, I write no fresh command to you, but an old command which you have had from the beginning. The old command is the Word which you heard from the beginning.”

We serve God not the Law. We are now lead by the Spirit of God Himself. The Law was until HE came.

THEN WHY ARE YOU AND YOUR OSAS GROUP TRYING TO DIVIDE THEM AGAIN?

17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold.18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.

17 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.

13 I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry 14 in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. 15 For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?16 If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, HE WILL NOT SPARE YOU EITHER.

22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, PROVIDED THAT YOU CONTINUE in his kindness. Otherwise, YOU ALSO WILL BE CUT OFF. 23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!

Under the NEW COVENANT there is NEITHER JEW nor GENTILE, but rather the TWO have BECOME ONE and are altogether a NEW CREATION in Christ JESUS!

Titus 3:5 He saved us not by works of righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration, and by the renewing of the Holy Ghost,

THE RIHTEOUSNEßS OF THE JEWS WAS THROUGH THE LAW.

Deuteronomy 6:24-25 The Lord commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today. And if we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, THAT WILL BE OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.”

THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRISTIANS (NEW CREATION/MAN) IS THROUGH FAITH.

Romans 9:30-32 What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, A RIGHTEOUSNESS THAT IS BY FAITH; but ISRAEL, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it. Why not? Because they pursued it NOT BY FAITH but as if it were by works. THEY stumbled over the “stumbling stone.”

“NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH WE HAD DONE" REFERS TO THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE JEWS WHICH WAS THROUGH THE LAW. (titus 3:5, eph 2:8-9)

PAUL’S QUESTION IS:

Romans 3:31 Do we, then, NULLIFY the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.

HE ALSO SAID,

Romans 3:3-4 What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith NULLIFY God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.”

GOD PUTS AND WRITES THE LAW IN OUR HEARTS AND MINDS.

Hebrews 8:10 This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Hebrews 10:16 “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”

...NOT JUST TO THE JEWS WHO WERE CIRCUMCISED IN THE FLESH BUT ALSO TO THOSE WHO WERE CIRCUMCISED IN THE HEART.

Romans 2:28-29 A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is CIRCUMCISION OF THE HEART, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise is not from men, but from God.

AND CHRISTIANS ARE ABLE TO FULFILL AND UPHOLD THE LAW IN THEIR HEARTS AND MINDS BECAUSE OF THE LOVE THAT WAS POURED INTO THEIR HEARTS.

Romans 5:5 And hope does not disappoint us, because GOD HAS POURED OUT HIS LOVE INTO OUR HEARTS by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

AND THEREFORE, “LOVE IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW.”(romans 13:10)

1 John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

1 John 5:2-3 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,

2 John 1:6 AND THIS IS LOVE; THAT WE WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you WALK IN LOVE.

Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your HEART that you BELIEVE and are JUSTIFIED, and it is with your MOUTH that you CONFESS and are SAVED.

1 John 3:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but WITH ACTIONS AND IN TRUTH.

Romans 8:4 in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be FULLY MET IN US, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.

John 14:15 “IF YOU LOVE ME, YOU WILL OBEY WHAT I COMMAND.”

Luke 6:46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD also.

17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18how that they told you THERE SHOULD BE MOCKERS IN THE LAST TIME, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19These be they who separate themselves, sensual, HAVING NOT THE SPIRIT.
