Well if the "stint" in my heart, maybe if the Rapture is within 10 years, I have been praying that way, that if the Rapture is within 10 years, may all who are GOING will make it, will make it in perfect health.

It will be way beyond what we now can dream or imagine as perfect health....

It will be a body just like His own glorious body.....

grace and peace ............

Whatever we do in order to earn favor with God.
Works was a religious system.
A religious system for doing prescribed deeds that religious leaders deemed good, that when followed and performed, would win God's approval for salvation for that person performing those deeds.

That sound good enough?

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

John 6:28-29

We are saved by one *work!* Not by works....

grace and peace to those who walk in it..
Amen!

It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!

English Standard Version
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Berean Study Bible
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Berean Literal Bible
He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

New American Standard Bible
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
the Only true work I see is, god's done work of Son to flow through us

And yet, James 2 says we are JUSTIFIED by works and NOT BY FAITH ONLY. The Bible does not contradict itself. So if your belief contradicts other passages in the Word of God then that belief is wrong—not the Bible.

It is helpful to know that the Bible does not lump ALL WORKS together, as men do. There are at least 5 different kinds of works discussed in the scriptures.
(1) there are “boastful” works as mentioned in Ephesians 2:9: these are works that originate with man—works that he can “boast” of. Works that originate from God are NOT works that we can “boast” of. As Luke 17:10 says, When we have done all that God commands, we have only done what was our duty to do.
(2) There are GOOD works talked about in verse 10 of Ephesians 2 which God says we were CREATED to do. These GOOD WORKS are also discussed in James 2.
(3) There are the WORKS OF THE OLD JEWISH LAW given by Moses. Many scriptures talk about these works in the book of Galatians. Chapter 2:16-a man is NOT JUSTIFIED by the WORKS OF THE LAW. Also, 3:2, 10, 11. Chapter 5:4 says if you try to be saved by the WORKS OF THE LAW you are fallen from grace.
(4) There are WORKS OF THE FLESH listed in Galations 5:19.
(5)And there are WORKS OF GOD. In John 6 the disciples asked Jesus what they could do to WORK THE WORKS OF GOD? LISTEN TO Jesus’s answer. (Verse 29) “ This is the WORK OF GOD that you.BELIEVE!! Did you know that “faith” is a “work?” If “belief” is a work of God, then so is REPENTANCE, CONFESSION, and BAPTISM. They are ALL “WORKs” but they are not bad works—they are God’s works! They did not originate with men—they originated with God. Remember when Jesus asked the Jews if John’s baptism came from heaven or men? Obviously baptism came from God. Matthew and Mark both record Jesus giving the “Great Commission” and Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the gospel, BAPTIZING them …” so Baptism is from God—and the New Testament does NOT teach that it is optional, anymore than “faith” is optional. Is it a WORK? Yes. It is a WORK OF GOD just like “belief”.
Read your Bible; educate yourself on what God says about works; they are not all bad. And to say that we are not saved by “works” is a doctrine of the devil, who wants all men to be lost! Jesus said many false teachers have gone out into the world. The only way you can know if a man is a false teacher is to know what the Bible says. I have given you book, chapter, and verse. Put your trust in the scriptures—not men.

Oh DC is no longer on this site, but I can put in my two cents.

James has context of believers who already have faith and are using it for the profit of someone else.

This is what happened with Abraham, Rahab, etc..

So if Abraham wasn't prepared to offer his son up as a sacrifice..he would still have faith, but it would not be alive.

His righteousness was imputed to him by Jesus without works. If he didn’t do works.. it would be a 'dead' faith as in ..inactive, dormant, unused. Not gone or lost.

The faith that is the subject of James is daily exercise of faith, not the faith in Jesus of initially being converted.

Justification by works.. is having a daily faith that God approves of. It's not about receiving eternal life.

Compare John 3:16, 5:24, 8:40, Romans 5:8 and Ephesians 2:8-9 with James 2.

I agree that there are different types of works...
Good and bad, wise and unwise, ture and false, kind and unkind, they are all works
Works of the flesh and works of the Spirit.

Our works are not worth anything when it comes to salvation.
We can not work our way to heaven.

No works can undo the result of one sin.

Sin = eternal death. All have sinned.

All good comes from God so even if we do good works they are thanks to God and from God. Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, ...

We can and should do Godly works because God is working in us.

All glory to God.

I do not agree.

Works are works....
There are different types and different reasons why people do works, but they are all works.

Love inspired works and greed inspired works may look the same, freely given works and forced works may look the same..... but God knows the heart. God knows the motive.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him:.

Faith is essential.

Jas 2:14-18
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Faith is not works
Faith results in works.
All good works comes from God and faith comes from God but we must choose to allow God to part.

Paul used the 10th Commandment (coveting) in Rom 7 (hardly prescribed by 'religious leaders').
I don't believe any good deeds (prescribed by men or God) which we 'do' are good enough. We only end up robbing God of the glory due His Son, when we offer our good works in hope of merit before God.
It seems to end up in the arena of motive... Do we do good to earn God's favor or do we do good because we are already accepted in the Beloved?

The work we are given is to believe and to continue in belief. That is, to walk in faith is to keep, when encountered with challenges to our belief (and these will be thrown at us as much as daily), return to the reason of our belief, Christ, and continue in Him.

"Faith" is not a feeling we have towards God.... as many emotion motivated Christians tend to believe it is.

Our faith is based upon "knowledge" of God's Word...

Faith comes by hearing... Romans 10:17

Consequently, faith comes from hearing,
and the message is heard through
the word of Christ."

And, He is the Word of God! John 1:1

As we grow in knowledge of Scripture?
We gain our potential to grow in our faith!

grace and peace .............

The "not by works" was based upon the corruption of the day.

Jesus was always being asked what work one must do to inherit eternal life.
It quite of was not based upon the Law.
The Pharisees were notorious for making up deeds one must do that were not mentioned in the Law of Moses.
Works was a man made system... much like the Catholics are notorious for doing as well.
