my only point was that there was only 1 not both could be right.

so if you agreed, you should have left it at that.

Oh, I see. I misunderstood "We both can not be right" to mean that you claim to be right. Sorry.

Anything u like but I particularly love the Old Testament , I believe it's a foreshadow of the New in many ways .

that maybe one of is is right,

Maybe we both are wrong (and there is actually another truth we are not seeing)

but we both can not be right.

This verse is talking about being saved in the sense of participating in the process of justification by which our sins are forgiven and we are taken from a sinning defiled state into a forgiven pure state, and receive the Holy Spirit who is the deposit put down on the purchased possession UNTIL the time of the resurrection. It is not about whether the first century Christians will be saved in the sense of being found faithful and raised up in the first resurrection, the resurrection of the just at the end of the age. It is possible that at the time of the hand over, when the Lord had intended to take full occupancy of the house, the original house-owner has so vandalised the property that the Lord withdraws His deposit and rejects the deal.

But someone who has experienced the loving mercy of God, and who has Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Father dwelling in their spirit, should be capable of better works than those.

You keep on inserting expressions like "earn me salvation" into the mouths of others when they have not said them themselves; and then you argue against them as though they really said them. That is either a dishonest rhetorical device to misrepresent others just to appear to be better tham them. Or it you are delusional, and imagine they think that.

And you continue not to see that I apologized for misunderstanding you.
However, my bias is to see how it may be possible for both to be right,
because as you said, there may be another truth not being seen by either,
which IMHO could be the right harmonization of the two opinions.
