This is probably one of the hardest things we have to take into consideration.

Over 2000 years ago things were a lot different, and they did not have the knowledge or understanding we do now.
They were not brought up learning the pagan traditions and doctrines mixed into the Christian faith as we have been infiltrated with over the last 2000 years which makes the understanding of certain things even harder when they are researched and found to be corruptions, false teachings or just plain old misunderstandings in contrast to what they had back in that day.

I guarantee you, that many from back then, would just throw a fit seeing how the religions of this world have infiltrated and corrupted multitudes of assemblies professing to be followers of the Messiah, and they do things they don't even realize are just dead wrong.

Think about it, and what you have grown up learning, and question everything as to the fact of whether or not it is according to the will of our Father above, or the father of sin and evil.

I am ashamed to live in this day and age where just about everything that is done has found some way to corrupt and cause a falling away, and I grew up learning it, and cannot tell what is right or wrong unless searching diligently through the Word.

Truly it is said in vain they worship Him for the laying aside the commandments for the traditions and doctrines of man.
We learn all of these while we grow up as children, and think they are all ok or right, only to find out that a majority of them are wrong.

The calendar we know is full of pagan names of other gods and pagan worship, every single one of the holidays are from some pagan or other means to draw us away from the true set apart days or appointed times of Yah, all we have to do is open our eyes to the Truth and see!

The signs of the times are showing we are getting very near to that great day of His return! Watch, lest you be caught unaware!

Chopper,

a very insightful post, a good reminding of just where so many of man's traditions
have originated and blossomed into so much of today's false worship.

very sad indeed, when folks are not interested in doing any research but are
content to participate in whatever is put before them, really without much
thought of just where or when or how the things that they dedicate themselves
to have come about.
this is a mind-set that is very dangerous, for the lazy (((Christian))) dwells in a fog
and are subject to the rules of the 'modern-day-Pharisee that claim that the
traditions of men are the traditions of God.

it truly doesn't take very much effort to study and research to figure these things out,
what is MIND-BLOWING, is seeing and hearing so many claim that they are in the
'righteousness of God', but, it is written,
'what is highly esteemed of men is abomination to God'...

Blessings

The Lord said the falling away would happen, and here we are seeing it with open eyes. But even many in the man-made church system deny the true meaning of the "falling away", and try to make it into a "rapture doctrine". Truly there is going to be some weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Chopper, I agree with what you are saying. We all need to closely examine the bible to make sure what we have been taught is scriptural. The Borean Jews (Acts 17:10-11) were a good example of this they accepted the teaching of Paul, but they carefully checked the scriptures to see if what he said was true. We really need to question what we have been taught. We may find out that we need to make adjustments to our beliefs. We must have an open mind and realize there is a possibility that what we have been taught may not be scriptural. This takes analytical thinking reasoning, humility and prayer.
Pretend you’re a lawyer and you must defend your belief to a judge with proof, then play the prosecutor and try to expose or disprove your beliefs. This exercise will get you thinking and doing research. At the end you will be fortified in your faith knowing that what you believe is scriptural or if you find some of your beliefs stray from the scriptures then you can adjust your thinking. You will have to include historical secular sources in your research to find out if a holiday or popular belief has a pagan origin.
Jesus Christ is the head of the church. He is perfect, man is not. Therefore no man or religious organization is infallible. For instance God sheds light on bible prophecies at the proper time and that light gets brighter as we draw nearer to the end of this age. God continually refines us, if we are malleable like clay.

(Daniel 12:4) . . .“As for you, Daniel, keep the words secret, and seal up the book until the time of the end. Many will rove about, and the true knowledge will become abundant.”
(John 16:12)[SUP] [/SUP]I have much more to say to you, but right now it would be more than you could understand.

notice how many have taken 'names' that indicate idolatry or fairy tales or honor other entities ,

or have a picture that is a 'graven image' , for whatever purpose.....

i.e. 'of this world' instead of 'not of this world'....

Read thru the OT, read thru ancient history...paganism has been rampant affecting the faith, at least from the Flood; man has been doing what he sees right in his own eyes (an indication of ignoring God's Word).

I understand what you are saying chopper and everything you say is true and more. tbh most everything has pagan roots it doesnt take a bible scholar to see that but still that is why we have the holy spirit he teaches us and troubles us in our spirit when we are seeing or reading pagen or simply antichrist things. personally I take everything to god. I used to be big into conspiracies pagan roots basically satan boasting and showing his plans in plain sight knowing few could see and understand. The depth of this is beyond deep you can recognize satans symbols plans and mockery by simply going on a walk but God told me when I was beggining to take my focus off him. it is good not to be ignorant of all of this but its very easy to become to focused on all this so sometimes we need to take break and simply enjoy faith with God.

I often find I am much happier and fulfilled when I am simply enjoying being with God seeking his heart and thinking of worthy things like becoming closer to God how can I be more like him how can I bless someone today ect. There was a scripture in pauls letters saying to think on holy things but for the life of me I cant remember it

AND the never ending rehashing of the same tired old arguments on this Forum are surely the fulfillment of that prophecy!
