I have no idea what I am doing or why I am on this website. I'm a Christian, and I really love the Lord. I'm separated from a man who can't love my children and doesn't want to take care of us, but I am really experiencing God's provision for my family and love for us. Yet I'm not sure what God is up to. I relocated this summer to a whole new state when my husband decided he'd had enough. He decided the whole blended family thing was just too tough. Just feeling a little let down and looking to talk with anyone experiencing anything similar.

Dear MathGal, Been there, feeling let down and looking to talk with anyone who understood. Looking back, I know what I was feeling was grief. And grief has phases. Sometimes we are very sad about the loss. At times we are angry about the loss. At times we are accepting of the loss. At times we are confused. Some days it takes every ounce of energy to get up and do what must be done. At times we feel all these emotions at the same time and we feel all of it in it's full intensity. The saying, "In time you will feel better" is true. Is there any amount of time that is typical for grief. No. Our wounds heal when it is time. Think of the physical body and physical wounds. Can you put a brace on for a broken bone. (Do you feel God bracing your heart and carrying you now?) Can you put a salve on the wound that has antibiotics? (Put on the full armour of God, just stay in reading the Words, listen to hymns and uplifting and glorifying and praising and worshiping God music. Can you seek a physician? Can you still cry? I can still cry not only for past losses but with you as you are passing through the fire of grief. Why is the silver fired? Is it not so that the dross (scum/filth) will rise to the top and be skimmed off so that the silver is made more pure? As your sister in Christ, when one of the body members hurt, I hurt. When you rejoice, I'll be there rejoicing with you. (These words could be the words of Christ to you and these are my words to you because Christ lives in me.) Love you Sissy.

Wow. Thank you so much for your words. They were really encouraging to me. Most days I feel like I am doing well, but sometimes when I finally slow down a bit, I feel overwhelmed and lonely. I guess I just thought that maybe it would help to talk online to some other Christians.
