I will likely catch a lot of flack from other believers for this observation. but prior to Christianity becoming a legal religion in the Roman empire and thus eligible for official funding, it was much more tolerant of other religions. Buddhism is not mentioned by that name in early church writings, but it appears to have been referenced as one of the other belief systems that was no more than a half step behind Christianity, with many members being better Christians than many official Christians were. But of course, when official funding became available, there simply was not enough to go around, so Christians had to denounce all the false claimants in order to ensure that the Christians got sufficient funding, something that never happened because more money can always be needed.
Buddhists are only better at morality because they master themselves. Jesus was right faith has great affect on the mind, but the nature of the problem is lack of blind faith, and so you must master your mind yourself. Meditation is the practice of letting go of bad thoughts that should not be part of you.
