Climate change / global warming is just a term the devil is using to deceive people who do not know the bible. Jesus has already told us the world is going to burn up. The devil just needs something to blame that on.

Firstly, the article was about energy efficiency, and I don't know what's so bad about being more energy efficient. Should we go back to the ways of the industrial revolution? Think of the carbon emmisions from back then...it's going to be a lot harder to breathe.

Secondly, the world can't literally "burn up" due to climate change. Or it will take a very, very, VERY long time, as the Earth naturally goes through cycles of warmer and cooler global temperatures. We are currently in one of it's warmer phases, but we are definitely contributing to the steeper temperature increase. While the average global temperature is rising, it is not at too quickly of a pace that humans will be unable to adjust to. And, in fact, there are a few small regions where the average temperature is slowly dropping. (That's why the term "global warming" is a bit of a misnomer.)

The dangers of climate change isn't as much to the Earth itself as it is to the inhabitants. The Earth is very resilient, and will survive and renew itself in almost any situation we throw at it. However, the creatures on the Earth are much more fragile. Humans face an increase in cancers partially due to the excess of UV light slipping past our depleting ozone layer. There are higher rates of asthma and other breathing problems because of how much gaseous waste we allow to drift into the atmosphere. And some low lying areas won't be burning up, but conversely, be engulfed in water as sea levels rise, causing entire populations of people to have to relocate. Already crowded areas become more even more crowded, diseases spread faster...not a pretty picture.

Looking at those situations, I'd rather be a steward of the Earth God has placed us on, and work toward combating these issues. The escalating situation of the Earth may all a part of God's plan, but He also calls us to reach out to the least of these. Being passive about the effects of climate change is not showing compassion and love for thy neighbor, as millions will be negatively affected by a problem that we could, over time, lessen the impact of.

And I believe that Jesus said the Earth will be destroyed by fire, which sounds like a much different "burning up" than that that might happen due to climate change. But interpret that as you will.

In Christ,
River

The problem is he is going around everyone. He is acting like a king not a president.

Second .. Has the heat wave and the lack of ran dried up midwest and some southern states? I bet they feel burnt up. This is a big part of our meat and grain. The lord said all the grain and 1/3 of the trees will be burnt up.

The devil is calling that climate change / global warming

The President is elected Hired by us to execute what our representatives receive from us as our constitutional rights and needs are for the people and by the people, He made a legal promise to uphold our constitutional rights not to be a independent rouge tyrant to foist his opinions and remove our rights by breaking the limits of his powers of the executive branch, he has not been given the power, of which he promised by confession and swearing upon God's documents the script of God's word, to change laws make laws intrepreting the constitution foist his opinion as law changing or ignoring legal constitional proceedure, he has broken the constitution trying to make a heaven(utpoia) on earth by his sympathies toward politicsand what ever his ideology is . We can not save the; earth, people or nations that is the saviors place power and work, no leader is going to change the atmosphere or the ecology or the needs of the billions of people on the earth. Since America is really an empire that makes any president emperor. We have invaded or interfered with more than 50 countries since the end of WWII. The latest we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan both on the flimsiest causes. And if Romney gets elected we will most likely invade Iran too. We spend more on weapons than the next 10 countries put together.

We have troops in over 150 other countries many of them in spite of their citizens protest. We regularly support the vilest of dictators as long as they cooperate with our foreign policy. So America is hardly the most noble country much less a good example of Christianity.

For those who would prefer a Christian American Empire look to the English "protectorate" run by Oliver Cromwell in the 1600's. It was the Puritan attempt to make England into a Christian nation. They were very serious about it and thorough too. It ended up very badly. Cromwell turned into a military dictator ruling England with an Iron fist far from the ideals he started with, but it was not without "pure intentions."
