I had a Western colleague at a university in Asia who was known to be homosexual. What we didn't know was that he was also a pedophile. Well, at least in his beliefs. He was exposed by the local newspaper, which even sent a reporter to try to interview him. The newspaper article revealed some interesting things about our colleague that we didn't know:

1. He was formerly a Catholic priest
2. He was currently doing a doctoral thesis on pedophilia
3. He was a member of a pedophilia website, where a synopsis of his thesis was posted

I browsed the website, and read his posted thesis statement, and it was all so academic. The logic was that just as homosexuality is now being accepted, pedophilia will be next -- pedophiles will have equal rights as well, and should.

But I had one big question in my mind:

Actually, proponents of marriage equality say the 14th Amendment DOES cover gay marriage. Equal protection under the law. What the Bible says (or actually, what you people THINK it says) is irrelevant for a secular nation with freedom of religion. According to God's law, children should be stoned to death for disobeying their parents, women should be killed for having premarital sex and eating shrimp is an abomination. Adultery, lying and using the Lord's name in vein should be illegal, too. But I don't see any of you arguing with that. You're picking and choosing your fake convictions because of your fear of giving up the old ways.

The United States is a free nation, meaning what your (warped version of) religion says on a human rights issue doesn't matter one bit.

Actually, this has little to do with gay marriage and more to do with the fact the president does not have this type of authority over the Supreme Court. He appoints justices, and can influence decisions but that is about it. The president actually has no authority over the Supreme Court or their decisions. He can't tell them to do anything, and they are not required to do what he says. The Supreme Court is the final judge. Not the president.

Adultery is still illegal in some states actually.
Lying is also illegal. This including providing false information to an official. Fraud, and pergury. All are punishable by law.


You also need to understand the difference in the Old Law and the New Law that Christians are bound to. You are talking about God's law through Moses.

Never in the bible was a child stoned to death for disobeying parents. The passage says SON and not child, and it was in reference to him being rebellious and a drunkard. This does not once mention a minor child.

You also need to look at John 8 on what Jesus did when a group was about to stone a woman for sexual sin. She was never killed.
Food is also no longer considered unclean. That was covered in the NT as well.
