Obamacare Launches Today -- What Happens Now? ,,,so as we all know the affordable health care act goes into effect today,so i was reading about it and found things i hope I'm misunderstanding,,,

listening to the news i followed the www they gave and found this page,,, Affordable Care Act | Medicaid.gov ,,,,"ok I'm poor,so im on med-a-somthin",,,,so i clicked,,,, (eligibility) Eligibility | Medicaid.gov ,,,and read,, then clicked (current information on eligibility),,,read this page and at the bottom i noticed,,,,"ESTATE RECOVERY",,,,so it explains in the other pages that different states are a little different so i searched "Texas estate recovery",,,,

and then found this page Medicaid Estate Recovery Program (DADS) and read the parts where they after me and my wife die,i guess unless we are both in the nursing home by then "WILL HAVE OUR ESTATES TAKEN TO COVER MEDICAL EXPENSES",,,,i keep asking the nurses here about this and they "look funny and leave",,,,"IS THE GOVERNMENT FIXING TO TAKE ALL OUR ESTATES",,,or am i misunderstanding this?????
 
i guess there's some hope one nurse explained to me "under the a.h.c.a. my children also are responsible for the total cost",,so if they pay the total then i can will my property to them,,,,,
 
Call me crazy, but as a leftist, I actually like the Affordable Care Act.
 
well i kind of did too at first,,,first 14 hours then i started reading about it,,,lets say a man makes 80,000 a year but his parents are below poverty,,,,he,the son is responsible for all unpaid expenses. so they seize his parents estate and sell it for 20,000 and the remaining bill is 1.5 mill.,,,well it's a "tax",,,so since it refers the deficit back to the i.r.s. in their sons name as the responsible party,,,,they can seize their sons assets if he doesn't pay the bills(back taxes)?????
 
It is a terrible thing for an American to come to terms with...that we should actually have to pay for anything.
 
forced to buy it,,,,,,but few have researched the penalties for not abiding this mandate,,,,,,,

The 85% of Americans who have health care through work or plans will be fully covered. Companies who only offer partial coverage will suffer from penalties so this will encourage full coverage. Woman dont have to pay more just because they are woman. 40 some million poor will have access to healthcare for a reasonable price - something they would not have been able to afford otherwise. If you make 200k or less you dont have to pay taxes on medicare, however it does penalize the rich but im ok with that because the poor should not be neglected while the rich get richer. When it comes to health everyone should be taken care of regardless of race, stature, social status, etc.

There are plenty of pros and cons... so for me the pros outweight the cons. Biggest con is everyone has to have medical coverage but that isnt so bad when you run into an unexpected condition which will cost thousands... those high costs are the ones that come unexpectedly so youll be thankful when you are the one affected.

well thanks for proving that everyone who makes less than 200k per year is going to have to pay the tax,,,,,,that is at the end of the day one of us has to pay the tax=loose our property,,,,,,,,,and while one of us has pieces of paper with pictures of dead presidents on them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,others have pieces of paper with pictures of Karl Marx on them,,,,,,,,,

The ones that are paying taxes are the rich. 98% of americans or for the middle and low class the % of taxes levied on them wont change much if at all. Under the new ObamaCare taxes, the only tax that most Americans will pay is penalty for not purchasing insurance if one can afford it.
 
Folks, stop going to the doctors and you won't have to worry about this. Just tell them Dr. JC is your Physician.

Sounds like the Huffington Post.

The 40 million ''poor'' number is wrong. Its an inflated number that includes those without insurance who do not want it. The actual number is more like 12 million of those who do not have health care but want it.

Obamacare isn't about health care. Its an insurance company pyramid scheme and the first step to nationalizing our economy.

Health care under this plan will be less and more expensive...same way we pay 400 dollars for a hammer for the military.

I haven't heard about medical bills being passed onto the next generation....is that even constitutional? Oh wait, the whole bill is anti-constitutional and american.

The biggest problem with Obamacare is republicans voting for it. NOT ONE should remain in office for this fiasco.

Ha What a Joke! Under the law companies are electing to drop coverage and take the penalty as that is much cheaper. Also, tell some of my co-workers who were recently fired because the we make medical devices and the tax on them is so huge that the company was forced to lay people off. Call your congressman people and tell them TO GET RID OF THIS OBAMINATION of a health care law!
 
Anyone who believes the burden will be on those evil rich white guys is an absolute fool.

They will pass it on in, fewer employee benefits and wages and higher prices for goods.

Have you ever wondered why prices go up and wages do not? Government regulations and taxations on the rich only hurts two groups of people...

the middle class and poor.

You don't get it do you?? The rich are rich because they are smart and handle their monies correctly. They are not going to be regulated out or taxed out. They just pass those costs onto customers and their employees.

This is a joke.

1. Some of us will pay the penalty because they will not be able to afford the insurance (me).

Heck, I can't even afford the penalty.

2. What about rising premiums?
 
I'm looking at it like this. I will buy insurance just like I'm required to do for the car but I don't have to use it.
