It's simple isn't it 😃

Lets look at some more, we see in the lots of passages that say, if you do this you will get this, and if you do that you will get that.

Well let also look at including what his children actually do, in verses where we see if, its so simple. It's the best way to see all these verses.

Children of God are led of spirit, Romans 8:14

Children of God walk in the light

Ephesians 5:8

Children of God are peace makers

Matthew 5:9

Children of God keep his commandments but this one I really like, they guard his word

John 14:15

Children of God di the will of the father

Matthew 12:50

But this is the best

Children of God love one another John 13:35

I do the same thing with them as I do with all the other scriptures. I believe them and apply them to my life by trusting in the grace of God in the power of the Holy Spirit through the transforming power of the Word. It is the word that generates faith in us, not our believing. Without the word, no-one has faith. Rom.10:17

Faith is the word of God at work in us. This is why King David would say "I will hide the word in my heart" Ps.119:11 and why we are encouraged to let the word dwell in us richly. Col.3:16 This why salvation comes by grace through faith. It is all of God's working. If we are living in accordance with His word, then we will bear the fruits but we will never generate them of our own working no matter how hard we try.

Again, there is no salvation apart from grace. It is grace that made us alive in the past when we believed the Gospel. It is grace that overcomes and transforms us in the present and it will be grace that will raise our dead bodies and transform them on the Day.

I believe 🥳

If you carry on reading the chapter we come to this

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Here we see the bee all and end all.

Jesus say he that hath my commandments and keepeth them ? Wow have and keep

To see that you can guard his commandments also

It goes like this he that obeys my commandnents also guards my commandments.

This is great and there's no complication.

Jesus says
He that have my commandments and keep them I will love them for it.

So it's fair to say that absolutely anyone can have is commandments and keep them.

As he could be anybody 🥳

Now here's the best part

if you love me you can have my commandments and keep them 🥳

And if you keep them seeing as it's my word the word will live in you and the comforter will dwell with you forever,

That will be the holy spirit, because the word is life, amen

When I write flesh, it means skin and bones.
When I write "flesh", it means the worldly oriented mind.
That mind is changed at rebirth from God's seed.
The converted get the mind of Christ.

He wrote that you would indeed be deceived, if you were walking in darkness-sin.
Those walking in the light-God would not be deceived when saying they had no sin, because there is no darkness-sin in God !
Do you think there is sin in God ?
No ?
Well then, how can there be sin on those who are "in" God ?

He would be too...if he was walking in darkness-sin when he said it.
But I am fairly certain that John was walking in God/light when he wrote this, so would not be deceived.

My "flesh"was destroyed at its baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remisison of sins. (Rom 6:6)
Paul writes..."And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts."
I have no "flesh", or vile affections, or lusts to listen to anymore...thanks be to God and His gift of baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of my past sins.
I will leave you pumping your chest thinking you have arrived.

And will pray God will humble you

We have eternal life. Salvation is eternal life.........Never perish. WIDE open for all.

The narrow way of life is growing in His Grace and knowledge. Few find it.

HENCE, believers who think we can lose salvation or were never really saved........Few find the abundant life we can have RIGHT now.
We have by the initial grace of justification union with God and His saints thru Christ that empowers our actions with grace and the promise of eternal salvation!

Jn 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Jn 10:10 life and life more abundantly

I agree,
  1. The Old Testament explains the wages of sin is death. Jesus provided a New Hope of Salvation.
  2. In Jesus sacrifice we have the opportunity of being saved, this is a free gift.
  3. The New Testament explains over and over we need to be obedient to Jesus words.
Do you know any scriptures that support this way of thinking? Here is a few scriptures I have found. :)

1. The Wages of Sin and the Free Gift
Your first two points are explicitly captured in a single, famous sentence from the Apostle Paul:
  • Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." This verse directly contrasts what we earn on our own (death) with what Jesus provides as an unearned gift (salvation and eternal life).
  • Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."

Several key New Testament scriptures address the relationship between true faith, following Jesus, and a life of obedience:
  • Matthew 7:21 – "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." Jesus explicitly warns that verbal acknowledgment without living submission does not lead to salvation.
  • James 2:17 & 22 – "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. ... Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?" James teaches that genuine faith always manifests through action and obedience.
  • 1 John 2:3–4 – "Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, 'I know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." John links knowing Christ directly to a lifestyle of obedience.
  • John 14:15 – "If you love Me, keep My commandments." Jesus presents obedience not as a heavy burden to earn a gift, but as the natural expression of love and allegiance to Him.
  • Luke 6:46 – "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do the things which I say?" Jesus challenges the logic of claiming Him as master while rejecting His instructions.
Not salvation!

Justification with union by grace, with the promise of eternal salvation!

Mk 10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Eph 5:2-6

A child's of God will naturally walk in God's love and will be a joyful fragrant person that brings glory and light to there father, they will honour purity but not only honour it but guard it.

And they will do it naturally, purity is not a restriction for children of God but more a reflection of God's character that lives in a child of God where love and marriage is naturally honoured, children of God naturally delight in keeping there life's clean and untainted by things that do not belong to there royal identity. Because children of God are part of a royal priesthood.

Should we continue on to your next passage

I agree that we stand in grace, but I don't think Scripture separates grace and salvation the way you're suggesting.
Romans 5:2 says we stand in grace, but Paul also says: "By grace ye are saved through faith" (Eph. 2:8).
The warning passages you cite are real, and they shouldn't be explained away.
The question is whether they teach that every sin immediately removes a believer from salvation, or whether they warn against apostasy, unbelief, and a life of persistent rebellion.
After all, the same New Testament says: "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 8:1)
and: "If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father" (1 John 2:1).
So I don't think the issue is grace versus salvation.
It's, believers stand in grace, persevere in faith, heed the warnings, and when they stumble, they are pointed back to Christ, not away from Him.
Rom 8:1 full quote

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Those who walk in sin are back under condemnation

Eph 2 refers to the general redemption and atonement not personal salvation

Thks
I'd want to slow down and look carefully at the assumptions here.

Regarding Romans 8:1, are you saying that any instance of sin puts a believer back under condemnation?
If so, how do you reconcile that with 1 John 2:1, where John writes to believers, "if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father"? John seems to expect that believers may stumble and points them to Christ as their Advocate rather than saying they immediately return to condemnation.

And regarding Ephesians 2, what in the text leads you to conclude that "by grace ye are saved through faith" refers only to a general atonement and not to personal salvation?
Paul goes on to say, "For by grace are ye saved through faith," speaking directly to the people he is addressing.

Do the warning passages teach that every act of sin results in loss of salvation, or do they warn against continuing in unbelief and walking after the flesh as a way of life?
How do you see Romans 8, 1 John 2, and Ephesians 2 fitting together without one overturning the others?

Romans 8:1 is a legal verdict and a conditional confirmation. It is the umbrella under which the rest of the chapter must be read. If one's interpretation of verse 13 means a Holy Spirit‑indwelt believer can spiritually die, then Romans 8:1 becomes false and Paul contradicts himself in the same paragraph. That cannot be the case.

Paul defines the two identities before he gives the IF-clauses. In verses 8-11, Paul already distinguishes:

Those in the flesh: cannot please God, do not have the Holy Spirit, are "not of His."

Those in the Spirit: the Holy Spirit dwells in them, Christ is in them, they have life, they will be raised.

These are identity categories, not conditions believers must maintain.

Therefore, the IF‑clauses in verse 13 are not a conditional, salvation maintenance program for believers but a confirmation of realm-diagnostic.

Paul is not saying: If a believer slips into fleshly living, he loses salvation.

He is saying: If someone's life is characterized by the flesh, that reveals he is in the flesh. If someone mortifies sin by the Spirit, that reveals he is in the Spirit. Behavior reveals identity - it does not create it.

I don't "feel" I'm saved, I know I'm saved because the Lord says so in His word as I outlined in my post. If one has no assurance, then one should also question if they have faith because faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of what is not seen and without faith no-one can please God Heb.11:6. Below is the Amplified version to flesh out it's meaning.

Heb.11:1
Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].

Maybe it is you who need to listen to the rest of the New Testament.

Ephesians 4:30
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Let me know when you have built up the strength to break God's seal and evict the Holy Spirit. ;):)

The correct way to say it is that you believe you are saved because you have confidence that the NT Gospel teaching regarding the atonement and resurrection of Christ is true (Eph. 2:8-9, 1Cor. 15:13-23).

I don't see how this is any different to what I said. It is the word that gives me the confidence (faith). I know I'm saved. It is not only because the word is written in scripture, it is written on my heart. I am effectively a living testament to the grace, mercy and power of our Lord and Saviour. Am I still a work in progress? You bet I am. I am not what I was but I am not all I could be either. I am loving every moment the Lord gives me to continue to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Am I boasting? Yes! I know what I was when still dead in sin. I know what I could still fail to be apart from the grace of the Lord God. My boast is in Christ, my God and Saviour. My prayer is always as Paul stated below.

Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
