Sin is sometimes compared or liken unto leprosy. Leprosy desensitized the affected part of the body. Like sin, it numb us with the things of God, it calloused our hearts with severity of sin, its ugliness, and its destructive consequences. It numbs us with the lingering results of sin on others especially those individuals close to us. It blunts us to the pleadings of those whose sole concern is for our welfare until we are totally anesthetized and hardened pertaining to life, faith and love for others.

Leprosy deforms and eats up the flesh of its victims. Like sin, it destroys our relationship with God, with others. Similar to strong acid, it corrodes our view so that it becomes twisted, abnormal and death-like.

Leprosy drives out its victim from society, isolated from all his love ones, friends and acquaintances. It also creates terror and fear. Sin, in the same way, makes the sinner solitary, self-loathing, guilty and hopeless. It initiates terror where nobody is pursuing, a fear unfounded.

But to all sin there is salvation. To all sinners, there is a Savior. No matter how deep the sinner had dug into sin, God’s hand is never too short to save, His love is never too slow to show compassion, and His tender mercies is new every morning, His faithfulness never comes to an end.

Why is there any hesitation to come to Jesus?

How long does it take to decide?

Now is the time of Salvation. Don’t wait till your heart is hardened to hear His call.

Come! Open your heart to God. Give Him your life. You will never regret it. He will wash you clean inside out.
