Oh Canadians, have I ever professed how much I love you? Probably not, but it's official. News hit today that the official 70's rock anthem for Canada is that wonderful classic, Closer to the Heart by Rush. So my dear Canadians on the CC board, I love you, and salute you. You have done me proud :)
 
Dead serious. Rush posted the article on their facebook page, Geddy Lee's response: "right on"
 
Only because I know she's a huge Rush fan, and this whole thing is probably because of her.

American Woman by The Guess Who would have been a better choice, but that would have been too anti-american :P Apparently they were banned from playing that song in the 70's when they performed at the White House lol.

Yeah apparently it is a protest song about America's attitude and involvement in the Vietnam War, and not about an actual American woman lol. "I don't need your war machine, I don't need your ghetto scenes, Coloured lights can hypnotize, Sparkle someone else's eyes"

Lenny Kravitz is a jerk, apparently he refused to play an acoustic show on tv, until he got a certain type of candy or something (I forget exactly what food). So MuchMusic had to go out and buy him it so he'd play the show.

That's not as bad as Axel Rose (GNR's lead singer). He had a long list of ridiculous demands before shows and on the tour bus. "Deshelled M&M's" was one of them. lol
 
Axl Rose has tons of ego. After his fallout with Slash, and reforming 'GNR' he saw a fan with a Slash shirt on, and in midsong demanded security throw the guy out of the building. Then he had them take his shirt from him, and Rose took it and just chucked it on the stage like trash.
He was a horrible live singer, his voice was trash, and now he doesn't even sing, he just talks in rhythm.

He had a great gift at one time. I respect his talent (Especially in the 80's) but he's got serious pride issues. I'd like to see him get saved. I was thilled when I found out Dave Mustaine accepted Jesus. I love Megadeth. Not something your average Christian would listen to but that guy has serious guitar skills.
