And that woman is me.

So, basically I'm confused about a lot of things regarding my love life. I just have a few questions, and hopefully some of you can give me some insight. I'll try not to ramble too much, so bare with me.

So I'm relatively young, (twenties-something) and I'm beginning to wonder if there truly is someone out there for me. I'm young, so not exactly marriage, but a good solid relationship. This is in a different sense than you would think. I know there are plenty of nice guys, who would love me and take care of me, but they don't have the right qualities. The main ones I'm talking about are intelligence and wit. I find myself to be incredibly bored with most men. It seems like I have to be mentally stimulated majority of the time in order to hold interest. This is very rare to find where I live, so I'm more prone to LDRs, because they tend to rely on good conversation as well. However a few things happen and this is where my questions start.
- It seems I run into the same types, ones who really fit me well, but it never turns into anything, or they are much less committed than I am.
- I like them too much, start to get scared, and begin to over-analyzing everything, and acting really strange.
- Or I'll hit this awkward stage, where we both care, but do nothing about it.

I'm a romantic at heart, although I don't admit it. I'm tired to giving more than I receive, but at the same time, in certain situations, I feel like I'm doing this to myself. I want to find someone who fits me, maybe not in every way, but in the ones that matter most. I'm worried I'm end up settling, because I'll never find that person or I'll just give up on the pursuit all together. I don't know if I'm making a big deal out of nothing, if I should just be patient, or if this is something I need to reevaluate within myself. Any and all advice is accepted. Please share your thoughts!

Honestly Maggie, how about a boy fast? :)

While it sounds humorous, I think it might help. No LDR's, SDR's, SLR's or anything for six months. Just try to become the woman YOU want to spend the rest of your life with, and then re-evaluate. I think Jesus has a lot He will teach you if you spend 180 days drawing close to Him.

A tip o' my hat to my friend,

-JIM

This is a great suggestion. Maybe I should take a break from my pursuit. But that still leaves me with all these lingering questions that will be waiting for me, whenever I do decide to dive in once more. I really wish I could get some piece of mind on this subject. Just something to help me sort through it all. I feel like I have so much to offer, but no one to offer it to. I want to find someone to can match me intellectually. Ugh. Being a girl, it's tough.
