"There's more than one way to skin a cat."

By far my favorite.
I still say that every now and then -- and, sometimes, I say it after saying:

There are old figures of speech I wish were used more. Here are some. Tell us ones you'd like to hear more.

1. That kid's got moxy.
2. I like the cut of your gib.
3. Playing hooky
4. Galavanting around
5. Out for a jaunt
6. Curmudgeonly

hey stillwaters. honestly speaking, I don't understand... Can you explain each to me please.. It's a jargon for me....

God bless you

-"fellow" or say "he was a nice fellow" when referencing guys sometimes
-'top of the morning!'
-"hoodlum'

My dad will sometimes say, "Fine as frog's hair." But I'm glad that one went out of style. *shivers*

My Dad has used a variation of that in the past. His version is: "Finer than frog hair split three ways!" ...I've used that a time or three just for kicks. :D
