Prayer is the medium which God operates in the invisible. I don’t know how this works but God moves through and in prayer. The invisible moving the visible, what a thought it is to know, and it require us to fervently and persistently be in our knees. Peter was miraculously released from prison through the prayer of believers. Daniel was brought and delivered from the lions because he prayed. Just as in creation God called all things to being, He moved so marvelously in the invisible to answer our prayers. May be it for healing, for help, for safety, for salvation, for deliverance, for guidance, and for everything that we need, we must pray.
Prayer shows our dependence on God. Here, God shows Himself strong, in prayer. And we, our weakness and insufficiency of the demands of our life and its circumstances, we are made strong. There is in us that we can make our boast. We, in the eyes of eternity, are feeble creatures, prone to sickness, death, poverty, and limitations. It is in the arms of the Almighty that we must put our hope on.
Prayer deepens our relationship with God, pointing all the glory, honor and praise to Him. Not only does prayer relieve us with our problems, it cultivates and enriches our relationship with Him. We become aware that He is the source of everything – the answer and the fullness of our needs. And adoration, praise and glory points back to Him.
Prayer changes things. Prayer changes us. The immediate answer, the delays and even the silence of God produce change in our prayer. We rejoice in the instant. We persist and contemplate in His delays. We wait and accept His ways in silence. God knows what He is doing. All our response is praise and acknowledgement what His perfect will is. Prayer changes us that we become more patient in the wait, more dependent in God’s grace, more open to forks in the road, more reliant in God’s perfect wisdom, more accepting to the unchanging circumstances knowing He provides more mercy and strength.
