Saying you can loose your salvation sounds more like it is from the devil. Sitting around wondering if you have accidentally lost your salvation , that would drive one crazy.
This whole discussion is a misunderstanding. What does the word salvation mean according to scripture?
The term salvation is a scriptural word and so it just follows that it must be defined by the bible and not a dictionary.
It means being saved from God's wrath as it is directed against sin.
The opposite of salvation is judgment or experiencing God's wrath as it is directed against sin.
If 1 Cor 11:32 is seen to present the reason for God's judgment of His people, then being judged facilitates salvation. In other words God's judment against the sin of His people is for the purpose of helping His people improve.
Being saved (from the wrath of God as it is directed against sin) is not the same as eternal life. Eternal life is obtained because of belief in Christ. As long as a person believes in Christ (even if they are being disciplined or not being saved from the wrath of God) the will still inherit Eternal life.

I see what you are saying. I do believe there is a big misunderstanding about salvation. We often times forget that salvation is a 3 part salvation (triune); justification, sanctification, and glorification.
Justification is the act of God declaring us just. God has saved us from the PENALTY of sin, which is hell. This is past tense and settled, DONE! This is the point where we obtain eternal life.
Sanctification is the act of God presently saving us from the POWER of sin. Transforming us into the image of Christ.
Glorification is the act of God, sometime in the future, whereby He will save us from the very presence of sin.
Notice the grammar of Romans 8:29-30. He is the one performing the actions, and those actions are, past tense, done. Those He foreknew (had an relationship with like a husband and wife) He predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son (sanctification). Those He predestined He called, and those He called, He justified, and those He justified He glorified. Each one is past tense, even glorification. Even though glorification is future to us, it has already been settled with God! How much more secure can our salvation be than that! God has already done it. Knowing that, it makes me want to serve Him more and show Him more gratitude for what He has already done. I can serve a God who cares so much about the salvation of my soul that He takes care of it. Do we really think that God is going to leave the salvation of souls up to us? He has taken care of it and it is done!
Yeah, if the Israelites couldn't obey the LAW, what makes you think you can do it.
It does not matter, it is still the ONLY way yuo can earn you way to heaven. A Gentile who wanted to come to God had to fall under the law. So it was given to anyone who wanted to be a part of God.the law was not given to the gentile

wow, I just noticed the thread was brought back from the grave.. WHat is up with all the Eternal security threads does it scare you people that much?? it must, its all you want to talk about.
Well to be honest. If I did not believe in God keeping his promise, and completing his work in me, I guess I would be scared of eternal security too.
No one sins accidentally.
Yet your right here debating on it along with everyone else. So were all scared, and your only here to help us get through our fears-right?
Plus your on every other thread about this topic.
Dont act like you arent just as much involved in these debates as everyone else
spoken from someone who has a vendetta against people who does not agree with him.. This does not mean much.
I am debating, I am not scared of your doctrine. I am secure in Christ.
I am back, it has been a couple weeks since been on here. Yes nobody sins accidentally, but once again it comes down to what I have mentioned before. The willful sinner the bible speaks about is the one who continues to sin with out remorse, conviction, repentance, and does not believe they are doing anything wrong. That is the willful sinner that will not inherit the kingdom the bible speaks about, and says that after being saved if you continue this way you will not inherit the kingdom.
