Romans 5:12 Ephesians 2:3 Just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death was passed on to all men, because all sinned. We were by nature children of wrath.

Hello Denise, first off, since I see that you are a new member, welcome to CChat :)

As far as your question goes, it seems certain that Christians in India would know that there is only one God, as would those of the Hindu sect who are aware of what Christianity/the Bible teaches us about the One God or Trinitarian Godhead (even though they may personally believe in the Hindu faith's 330 million gods).

God bless you!!

“For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many Lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.”

Many Hindus are mainly familiar with the Catholic religion because of what they were briefly told in school. I don’t believe they are familiar with the Trinity.

There is also a Trinity or Triunity, which is in the God, that you mention.

"3. QUESTION 3.
Was there not always a Trinity in the Divine nature, to be understood in this way: the Divine Love, the Divine Wisdom, and the quickening Spirit, or Holy proceeding?
ANSWER.
The Divine Trinity in one Person is to be understood as soul, body, and proceeding operation, which together constitute one essence, for the one is from the other, and therefore the one belongs to the other. In the same way there is a trinity in each man, which taken together constitutes one person, to wit, the soul, the body, and the operation that goes forth. But in man this trinity is finite, because man is only an organ of life; whereas in the Lord the Trinity is infinite and thus Divine, because the Lord is life itself even in respect to the Human, as He Himself teaches in John 5:26; 14:6; and also elsewhere."

There is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All 3 agree as one, just as all of us are supposed to agree as one in Him.

God the Son sits at the right hand side of His Father.

If you understand the idea of the trinity in the word quite literally, then it is inevitable that there are three Persons, each of whom is God, and there are operating as the Three Gods, only called One. Also, imagine, there is like the higher God, and then there is secondary, which just sits at the right Hand. And they also send the Third One, running erands.

Is that your idea?

Consider another one, which is more in agreement with the spirit of the Word:

"The Divine Trinity in one Person is to be understood as soul, body, and proceeding operation, which together constitute one essence, for the one is from the other, and therefore the one belongs to the other. In the same way there is a trinity in each man, which taken together constitutes one person, to wit, the soul, the body, and the operation that goes forth. (Swedenborg, "Nine Question")

And compare how the idea of sitting at the right hand can be seen in a more spiritual light.

"To sit at the right hand does not mean literally to sit at the right hand, but it signifies the omnipotence of God by means of the Human which He assumed in the world. By this He is in last things as He is in first; and by this He entered into, destroyed and subdued the hells, and also restored the heavens to order. Thus He redeemed both men and angels, and continues to redeem them to eternity. If you consult the Word, and are capable of being enlightened, you will see that by the right hand is there signified omnipotence, as in Isaiah:

My hand also hath laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens. xlviii. 13;

The Lord hath sworn by His right hand, and by the arm of His strength. lxii. 8;

Thy right hand hath holden me up. Ps. xviii. 35;

Look upon the Son whom thou hadst made strong for thyself. Let thy hand be upon the Man of thy right hand, upon the Son of Man whom thou madest strong for thyself. Ps. lxxx. 15, 17.

From this it is evident how the following is to be understood:

JEHOVAH said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. JEHOVAH shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Ps. cx. 1, 2.

The whole of this Psalm treats of the Lord's combat with the hells and their subjugation. Since the right hand of God signifies omnipotence, therefore the Lord says

that He shall sit on the right hand of power. Matt. xxvi. 64;

and

On the right hand of the power of God. Luke xxii. 69.""

My idea? Funny question!! None of what I say is from MY ideas. This is what I read from Scripture.

There is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All 3 agree as one, just as all of us are supposed to agree as one in Him.

If Scripture states something, then it is so:
God the Son sits at the right hand side of His Father.

Even Stephen looked up to Heaven and saw Jesus:

“But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭7‬:‭55‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Consider another one, which is more in agreement with the spirit of the Word:

Not at all! This idea is NOT Scriptural.

I would say you need to have more faith in what you read.

Yes, this is correct. The other point how it is to be understood. If strictly literally, or spiritually.

If you literally, then you are also expected to apply everytihng that the Lord taught in the various proverbs literally. Do you apply them in that way, without some more spiritual undertanding?

And so, if it is written that the Holy Spirit descended like a dove, and remained on the Lord, so you believe that the Lord is literally the dove, or in the dove. Or when the Lord is said to be the Lamb, he is actually the Lamb, I mean, in the form of the lamb in the spiritual world? That is, that His Divine Form is the Form of the Lamb?

And also that God sits literally on his throne, like a king in this world does?

Yes, but not everything was a proverb!!

You have to begin reading things on your own; the Spirit will help you to understand more, if you ask the Lord for help. Ik many people who are told what to believe, and how to believe something.

I began reading on my own late in life and found out how much I had actually missed….. So many things I was told were incorrect, based on traditions of men rather than Scripture.

If Stephen looked up to heaven, before he died, and saw the same thing, what is the problem in believing it’s so?
It tells me that God the Son is equal to God the Father, for a time; which is what Scripture states.

It is very useful to read as it were on one's own, and but it is also essential that a man then understands how he reads the Word, from the Lord, or rather from some creed, which he absorbed earlier uncritically, without comparing it with the Word, or not being able earlier to compare that view with the Word. So Roman Catholics read the Word from their doctrines, Protestant from theirs, etc. So, if you wish to read the Word from the Lord, you have to look to the one who is the Door, the Truth and the Life and live according to the commandments of the eternal life, thus shun evils as sins against God.

Besides, when a man looks to the Lord in the Word, one then cannot deny that the Lord can operate via others, correct? So, in that regard, a man can hear others, and if those are saying the truth, then if it is indeed the truth, then it may be from the Lord Himself, for the truth is not the man's property. But the view of others has to be compared with those views which a man has received earlier, uncriticially, or by mere faith into the authority, but those views have to be compared with the Word, which is only possible when the Lord Alone is looked to, who is the Light in the Word, provided a man shuns evils as sins, and thus have a true repetance of life.

When the Lord has glorified the Human in the world, namely, when He made it Divine, it does not have the status of expiration, but now our God is both Alfa and Omega, thus He is Divine and Human, and those are one. "I and the Father are one. The one who sees Me sees the Father."

The challenge with regard to the visions of old, that they have to be understood. Certainly, in the exteremely simplicity, you could think of the visions of the Revelation of John to be happening literally, thus, involving all those imagery about the Lamb, animals, et.

But if one wishes to have a more clear understandable idea, without proverbs, how the Lord is one, the idea, which involves not only the letter of the Word, but also the spirit, or the spiritual sense, then he would have to explain the Trinity more soundly, then just one or two gods, sending the third one on errands, for that may indeed appear so from the imagery of the letter of the Word, but that is not the same as the explanation of how they are one, truly one, not just said so by one's mouth, while thinking that they are three. And that explanation has to with the aspects of the internal sense of the Word.

If the explanation is sound, than a man, in approaching the Lord, in whom is the Father, has all three, for the Lord was known only to send the Holy Spirit.

I understand Scripture pretty well, but I’m not even sure what you’re trying to say in your mini sermon??

If you’re trying to dissuade me from believing that the Trinity is distinctually three, you won’t succeed. Scripture plainly says otherwise!!!
