I've been a Christian for a long time but since I've never really belonged to a church, I've never really been part of any evangelism, community work, serving opportunities, etc.

I keep telling God that I am able and willing and ready to serve in whatever way He wants me to, but I can't seem to find any opportunities.

Can you please pray that God leads me to a good church and that He reveals to me how He wants me to serve in the world and also just my overall purpose in the world.

Thankyou.

Sure I will pray, can I encourage you though that 'opportunities' don't necessarily have to be in the form of evangelism, or missions etc.

Look for practical, everyday opportunities. Next time you're at the supermarket, pay for someone's groceries, give a meal to a family in need, go mow the lawn for an elderly couple etc etc... you see my point right?

These are things you can do that are practical, and right on your doorstep. Sometimes, just showing you care, and practising random acts of kindness, can speak volumes.

I'm pretty sure it was St Francis of Assisi who said ' At all times preach the gospel, if necessary use words'. I think so many of us forget the practical things we can do to make a difference in someones life and be an effective witness for Jesus.

Good luck. I'll be praying!!

Thankyou Katie and thanks also for the great advice.

Thankyou pickles as always for praying for me. :)
