Our unique fear ought to be sadden the Holy Spirit with our sins (Eph 4:30)!
• “Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.” (Psalms 64.1)
• “Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 8.12-14).
Be careful with the dread of the enemy (that is, with what they fear). Remember that who is afraid of someone or something isn’t capable of being perfected in love (1John 4.18). Whatever the problem, Jesus is able to turn the things around. What we can’t do is to turn the Holy Scripture around, obliging it to convey to us what it doesn’t want to say.
Jesus always carries on His plans for us and these ones always beef up our soul and spirit, although this is not always enjoyable to the flesh. However, instead of being afraid, let’s stay trusting in Him. After all:
• “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6.63).
