"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." --Ecc. 4:12

God created us to defend, strengthen, and encourage one another. Receive this encouragement from others by getting help to overcome sins. Here are some ways:

  • If you struggle with alcoholism, drug addiction, or pornography addiction, join a support group like Celebrate Recovery. (Click www.celebraterecovery.com to learn more about this program.)
  • If you struggle with cutting, see a Christian counselor.
  • If you struggle with laziness, join an exercise class.

If you have overcome any sin, you are anointed to help others...so start encouraging! PM me if I can be of help to you in your search for help for overcoming sin.

Lord, We praise You for giving us freedom in Christ to overcome sin. We pray You would give us opportunities to encourage one another in our battle against sin. I pray for those in Christian Chat that are involved in life-threatening sins to overcome them. In Christ's Name, Amen.

According to Ecclesiastes 9:10, whatever we do, we are to do it well. So, if by lazy, you mean doing less than your best at a task or putting of things that need to be done, then it is most likely a sin.

I agree with jesuschristtheking that it depends. If someone is too lazy to provide for their family, that is a sin according to 1 Timothy 5:8. If someone is too lazy to care for their body and it is destroying their health, then that is a sin according to 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. If someone is too lazy to be obedient to God, that is a sin by the very definition of the word "sin," which means willful disobedience to God. And mark89's is a great Scripture I agree supports laziness can sometimes be a sin. I never really considered that verse before so thanks for that.

Our human nature finds sinning so super-easy. Thank God we do not have to pay the sin debt or walk in our shame! We need only take hold of the Holy Spirit in us and submit to His holy ways. God bless!
