For the record I'm not seeking pity. I am sharing this to show how God has delivered me through many tough situations. My life has always been tough. I was abused as a baby and taken into state custody by the age of two. My foster family later adopted me. They however, had such high lofty standards I had to have straight A's in school. I had to always be well behaved. My room had to be spotless 24/7. Basically the equivalent of living in boot camp my first 18 years. My parents said things like you're worthless you'll end up under a bridge etc. When I'd tell them a dream of mine for a career wake up come back to the real world. They said that with art, music, pro sports, and acting. They said get a real job. They never acted proud of me in anything. I joined the NAVY to essentially run away. While there I got so depressed I tried to commit suicide. I moved back home with my parents. At this point I was over 21 they would not allow me to smoke, drink, and even set a curfew for me like I was still a child. I essentially ran away again and moved in with a girl. She was abusive to me. I got out of that only to get into another abusive relationship with another girl. I finally found my wife and things are better than they were before. Other things that happened were losing and getting no less than 3 dozen jobs in 17 years. I am now saved for a week now. I am thinking all the bad things that happened to me God was trying to reach me and bring me to him. I don't know whether it's true or not, but praise the Lord he was patient with me and let me survive til now. There's got to be something he wants me to do that only I can do. I don't know.

Great testimony.
You know, I would tend to think that losing all those jobs and being in those relationships had more to do with the way you were raised. It does affect a person, even if they don't see it, and in ways they won't expect. But God can use those things to reach us. One of Gods favorite 'moves' is to take tradgedy and bring something new and good out of it, much like he's done in your life.
At the end of the day why those things happened isn't important. What matters is the outcome. Enjoying your many posts and questions.

You're right that the important thing is what has happened despite my many challenges in life. God may use me to reach those who have gone through great suffering in their life. I have survived many bad circumstances, but came out stronger at the end of it all. God has been with me even if I did run all those years. Everything has a purpose and meaning. I wish I hadn't had so much adversity, but I wouldn't be who I am today without it. Just pray to God for strength, wisdom, and the ability to forgive others despite what they may have put you through. My job history if you were wondering was due to lay offs seasonal. Work companies going out of business having to move not a single one was me be fired. Plus I have gained and lost everything a ton over those years too. So material possessions aren't as important to me. I'd love to have more don't get me wrong, but I have learned to live off of very little. It's not pleasent but God provided for me year after year even if I didn't see it that way at the time. It's a miracle I've survived this long, but ultimately He decides when our time is up.

I have been there my friend:) you are not alone in this kind of life many of us here have known such pain and sadness I am one who has experienced all this as well. I am actually grateful for all I went through in going through all of it I learned what real pain is what true sadness is what it's like to be all alone and for no one to care about you believe in you and always tell you that you will never amount to anything and so I am able to connect and understand and help mend the inner wounds and scars that others who have known the same.

Also I learned how to be a good parent by seeing what not to do I recall how I was treated all the mistakes that were made by my parents how it made me feel what I needed in those times. God has taught me so much simply from my abusive and hard past and the testimony I spoke in the testimony forum was written without any idea how vastly God was going to use to help and to reach others and just mine yours will do the same. If you ever need any help at all any kind of encouragement any advice my pm is always open and I want to help you grow in your faith and your relationship with God as much as possible so please by all means ask away :)
