I find it odd that there have been some views here stating that because their are pagan roots of many things around us, that it is hypocrisy to warn people of holidays with pagan roots. It would seem to me that we should [SUP]"14 [/SUP]Seek good and not evil, that you may live; And thus may the Lord God of hosts be with you" Amos 5:14a. There will always be things that we are not aware of, but if that is the reason that we chose to participate in the evil things that we know are wrong, I do not believe we will have Jesus tell us "well done". We should always try, to the best of our ability, to stay away from things we know are against God. These things will often cost us friends and family, but it is important to do the right thing in spite of that.
Thank you Roshon K for asking for prayer for people that have not received Christ or are still practicing these holidays, as we know, we were all at one time in the dark. Titus 3:3-8 says "At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. 8This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone."

Actually most of what you think are christian holidays have their roots in pagan holidays, the winter solstice and yule became Christmas, and don't even get me started on easter which started out as the spring equinox, bunny's and eggs also of pagan origins, Sunday is a pagan day of worship where we worship the sun God, It was never mentioned in the bible that the Saturday Sabbath was turned into the Sunday Sabbath, You can thank Constantine merging pagans and Christians together on that one. You Christians have literally stolen the Pagans holy days and you are complaining about the day of the dead when the veil between the spirit world and this is the thinnest. a most holy time for us. and you have turned it into children wearing Harley Quinn outfits asking for candy, ..... If you had any idea how much of Christianity was of pagan origins you would be amazed, ...Sending love and light

You have very good points, the thing is knowing what God wants you to do verses people in the name of God telling you what you should do, that leads to problems when you give people that much power,
Easter or Resurrection Sunday commemorates the Passover... if you missed that little detail, the most important Christian holiday and Jewish feast, you have missed Christianity completely.
I don't know what happened to my post, but some of the words just disappeared.
I was saying that who honors their parents who live here doesn't seem to be determined by whether anyone is a Christian or not, it depends on what they personally decide to do. In fact people who live without God in their lives are more likely to visit and keep their parents in their family.
Christians don't seem to be following the Lord at all, they are making up their own minds how they live.

This is it exactly.
Just as the Jews did when they lived in exile they created rabbis without asking God to guide them to find out what to do. Then the rabbis felt they could interpret scripture with authority. That happened to the church way back in 132 when the Romans killed so many Jews blood ran in the streets so gentiles took over the church. The Jewish leaders knew scripture and also Christ, the gentiles had a pagan background. We still have some of those early father's writings and they mixed in what their background told them was right with what the Lord taught. With discovery of the deep sea scrolls giving us a clearer understanding of what the scripture words meant to the men God breathed his instructions to, Christianity is clearning.
As people who know we are created by the Lord and want to live in harmony with Him, it is up to us to find out what comes from man and what comes from God.
