Luke 21 is prophecy of what will happen just prior to the return of Christ. It gives you many signs and events that will take place during this period of time. Jesus is telling us that as we know that summer is near when we see the trees budding, also know that the return of Christ is at hand when you see all the signs coming to pass written in Luke 21:7-32. The planting of the fig tree generation was in 1948 when Israel once again became a self ruling nation. It is that generation, that is now 77 years old, that shall not pass away until all is fulfilled.
st.luke describes jerusalem surrounded by armies, jews taken captive and times of the gentiles beginning. it has been times of the gentiles now for 2000 years and still is. jerusalem is still trodden by the gentiles.

this surrounding took place nearly 2000 years ago. you are late

sadly, we are going to be hearing about this until 2068. at first they invented the idea that the fig tree represents israel in matthew 24 and the reborn of it means its the final generation, so the end was supposed to happen 1988, the biblical generation which is 40 years. nothing happens again so they just keep moving the goal posts.
I could not agree more, I remember the hype when Ronald Reagan was in office and Gorbachev was the anti-Christ because of the marks on his forehead.

And how make lives lost to force this faulty end times view.... it is the "end of the age" the Mosaic Covenant, not the end of time as you probably know.

yeah the endless pin the tail on the antichrist thing we christians do is making us look real dumb. it was done to gorbachev, saddam hussein, obama, bush, probably some are doing to trump now as well. all these men have retired or died. and then the next one comes along. its a never ending shame. you would think that after every single guess has failed people would stop. if there will ever be a physical one singular man the antichrist, you will know it for sure, no guessing needed.

Consider that since Israel became a nation in 1948, it's enemies have been surrounding it and would like to wipe them off the face of the earth. As you can witness, Israel is eliminating many of the groups surrounding them that wish them harm. The gentiles now rule the Temple Mount but ultimately, that is going to change.

All I understand so far is that the great tribulation lasts for 3-1/2 years. So when the Bible says those days will be shortened, does that mean the hours of the days will pass by much faster than normal or will he reduce the number of days? How will he shorten those days???

It's just something I'm wondering about. I know that we'll definitely understand and know what the Bible means about this when we actually go through it.

🚃
The great tribulation is when Satan is thrown out of heaven, Rev 12:7-9 and comes to earth claiming to be God, II Thes 2:3-4. He will deceive many into worshipping him as God by performing great signs, Rev 13:13-14. At the end of this tribulation, the real Christ returns and tears down Satan's kingdom, Math 24:29-30.

Mark 13:20 tells us that the Lord will shorten those days for the elect's sake. Rev 9:5 and 9:10 tells us that the tribulation will be shortened to five months. The 3 1/2 years will be shortened to five months. I hope this helps to clear things up.

The people who don't want to believe that the great tribulation is yet to come and has already happened generally don't/won't believe in dual fulfillment of Bible prophecy. I don't know why because the first fulfillment was only partial and you can see that from 70AD - not all of the prophecy was fulfilled. The second fulfillment will have the entire prophecy come to pass.

Revelation 9:5 They were not allowed to kill them but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes.

Revelation 9:10 They had tails with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months.

So this happens when the fifth trumpet is sounded. I don't see how this is referring to "those days" though. It's talking about locusts:

Revelation 9:3 And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. 4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads*.

* So Christians will be safe from the locusts, but not necessarily from the antichrist.

The Lord doesn't come to collect us until the seventh trumpet sounds. A LOT of stuff happens between the fifth and seventh trumpet sounds. It sounds like "those days" will be more than five months?

a quick google search will tell you that israel being conquered or surrounded is quite a common phenomena. its been happening and will continue to happen.

i dont know if the current state of israel has long left. maybe a hundred years max. just based on the demographic changes within israel and how self-destructive the russians who live in there are.

but im not ruling out being wrong, if they really do rebuild the temple, resume sacrifices and some guy comes in and stops it and proclaims himself to be god, i will admit i was wrong and head for the hills.

Yes - all that matters is that you endure in Christ to the very end. God will guide you, provide for you and keep you strong as you remain in Him. That is all I hope for when I warn other Christians. Because the Bible warns that there will be great falling away as the antichrist is revealed and the Christians who didn't anticipate it will panic.
