I'd agree. I know in modern US culture it's common to start thinking about dating, etc.. but mind you that's worldly culture. All that does is teach children at a young age to become focused on dating. My parents pushed the idea of dating on me at a young age. I had my 1st girlfriend at 13. My first kiss at 13. And lost my virginity at 13. Talk about regret. The more emphasis on dating at younger ages, the more focused a child will stay on the subject as they grow. They may adopt an attitude that they 'always' have to be in a relationship to be happy. They may be more inclined to compromise their morals. Or at the very least, push the envelope.
I'd focus on teaching them to be happy where they are. Dating or not. And i would downplay dating, kissing, etc.. at least until they're older. Remember, what you teach them now grows in them later.
 
Depends on them. Really there's nothing anyone can do about it other than hope that they have the right intentions.
 
I guess that would be your child's decision being that they're coming to the age where you can't monitor their every move. Just remind your child that kissing a guy is giving him a piece of her heart that she'll never get back.
