Verse 9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ

John is telling us today I am your brother and companion weather it be in hard time or In good times . Here is the big one do you have the patience of Jesus Christ to go all the way with Jesus Christ. Remember that is why John is there.

Verse 10. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

Do not and I mean do not over look this verse or you will never understand the book of Revelation. Was in the spirit. He had left his flesh body on the isle and was in the spirit on the Lord's day. The first day of the millennium; because John was in the spirit He was able to see as far back as In The Beginning and He could look forward for ever because that is eternity. Whose voice did He hear? Gods at the sound of the 7th trumpet. He is going to be able to see everything happen in that moment that twinkling of an eye. He will see this earth age wiped away and the very moment of the start of the 3ed earth age or the heaven age.

Verse 11. Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

God tells John what you see write in a book. That is this very book we are reading right know. When you are finished writing it send it to the 7 churches. Geographically these churches were in a circle; again 7 spiritual completeness so these 7 churches represent any church and there teachings around the world. As you read of the 7 churches in chapters 2&3 test your church, test your teacher and see how it stacks up. The names of these 7 churches have no real significance it what they teach you must know and be aware of.

Verse 12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks.

Here we start to see the start of the symbology that is in Revelation and this is where a lot of people get lost pastors and teachers included. Remember Jesus said “I will never leave you wanting” so lets see how hard or easy this can be.

Verse 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

The Son of Man this is Christ. Why was it golden? Because of the glow of the Shekinah Glory shining all over Him.

Verse 14, His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

White like wool and as white as snow. That is purity. His eyes were as fire. Here again the glow of the Shekina Glory. Remember how Moses's face look when he came off the mount from receiving the 10 commandments from God. Here you are seeing the beauty of it in full. Don't make it out to be evil or scary it is a wonderful thing and I for one look forward to that day.

Verse 15.And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

His voice as the sound of many waters; that is many people languages. The Pentecost voice for those of you with a little deeper knowledge. Waters are people and you can find that in the 17th chapter of this great book.

Verse 16. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Look out we have here 7 stars, and a mouth with a two edged sword and back in verse 13 we have 7 candle sticks. What could it all mean. The sword is His word. You can read all about this in Hebrews chapter 4. That two edged sword cut through the lies so don't you listen to them, You check it out from the bible and make sure what I am telling you and what any one else is telling you make sure it lines up and is not a lie. As we go through this we will see that God makes it very simple to understand as long as you do it His way and not listen to some man say you don't have to understand the book of Revelation. If that is true then you don't need Genesis – Jude ether. What did verse 1 say this book was written to His servants. Are you a servant? He also talks about the 2 edged sword that cuts both ways. It is going to offend some people but if their a servant of God they will look at what is said and see if it applies and if so fix it and be better off for it.

Verse 17. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

John fell at His feet as dead what does Jesus do? Puts out his strong right hand picking him up gently and letting him know everything is going to be ok.

Verse 18. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death

This is Christ the first begotten of the dead. He has the keys of hell and death whereby He can open the door for you to bypass all that. The quickest way to a ticket to hell is to listen to someone that would tell you don't have to understand the book of Revelation or you only have to understand part of it, or You are going to fly away before any of it comes to pass. It is not written and without that knowledge you will not have the key to open the door to bypass hell. Jesus will on the other hand gently lift you up give you the knowledge if you want it find it. There is nothing negative about this verse as we move on we will learn about the key of David that opens doors that no man can shut.

Verse 19. Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

Write the things you have seen so far in the book like I told you to and write the things I am going to show you. Don't leave anything out

Verse 20. The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

God makes things so simple a child can understand but we try to complicate things. The 7 stars are what? The angles of the 7 churches. One angle for each church. And the 7 candlesticks are the 7 churches. Not hard at all to understand. As we go Jesus will keep it that easy; only if you will have eyes to see and ears to hear.

More to come tomorrow. I hope. If not Friday.
