would y'all eat a grasshopper?
lol, no. For a variety of reasons.
would y'all eat a grasshopper?
The Bible repeatedly emphasized Passover, "And this day shall be for you a memorial…" (Exodus12:14); "And Moses said to the people: remember this day in which you come out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage…" (Exodus13:3); "You shall remember what Adonai your God did to Pharaoh…" (Deuteronomy7: 18); "that you may remember the day when you come out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life" (Deuteronomy16:3).
...oh yeah, that's right..our Bible doesn't start till Acts. Doh, what was I thinkin....In the books of Exodus and Deuteronomy; the Lord is addressing His people Israel.
The Children of Israel were to keep the feasts of the LORD.
Christians are not commanded to keep the Jewish Feasts.
And if one wants to keep the Jewish Feasts; then they must go to Jerusalem. Since Jerusalem is the place where God chose to place His Name (Deut. 16:2,6,7,11,15,16) and (2 Chron. 30:1,2,3,5,11,13,14,21,26).
Well anyways, my church I think is hosting Jews for Jesus for a lesson on the Passover. A couple by the last name of Rood. I'm sorry I just don't like that title messianic, I know what it means but I don't find it necessary for people to act like their still Jewish after being a believer. Sure we all are circumcised Jews by heart in a sense, but saying you are Jewish is weird even if you grew up Jewish. We all are one people in the same vine, branched together as one. Anyone separate from Jesus is separate from the vine. Is that funny? Should we boast against them? Definitely not! Matter of fact, they are as lost as the Gentiles, we must pray for them as well as all people to come to God.
Calling yourself messianic doesn't make a unconverted Jew think of you Jewish still. The title is merely for other Christians to acknowledge you have either Jewish background or you go to some messianic church/synagogue. The apostles even identified to Christians of all kinds that out there is Jews and Gentiles who will persecute us, what does that make us if we aren't them? A whole new people, a holy priesthood, a holy nation before God!
What a demonstration of ignorance of the Christian beginnings. Without the Messianic Jews, (Torah observant Jews with faith in Messiah) you would not have your Christ centered Church.
Wow, insulting and misjudging really necessary? I wasn't saying that the early church didn't start with Jews, I was stating that the title messianic is not necessary for anyone to be called. We are called to be in one body, one mind, one baptism. It's not just against the term messianic, I say the same for people who say 'Baptist Christians' or 'Methodist Christians'. It makes us look divided and confused, and God is not the author of confusion! We are neither Jews or Gentiles, we are a new creation in Christ. Born again believers.
If you want to see insulting, look up a few posts what you said. I hope not everybody at your church has your attitude toward the people you are hosting, that are there to help you understand Passover, by the way.
Ma'am, I see that we both have contention and friction against each other. I have said some wrong things in the past, have I not sought for your forgiveness? Why bring it up again? You and others here don't act 'perfect' so please! I feel very disrespected by you if you want the truth. So I'm not here to start to fights...
If you are so humble and meek, why are you posting all your disdain for things Jewish on a thread for those who honor Passover? Your statement "Sure we all are circumcised Jews by heart in a sense, but saying you are Jewish is weird even if you grew up Jewish. '.... Are you kidding? Now even a Jew should not acknowledge His Jewish heritage? Oy vey

What gets me is that some act as if ignorance was a virtue. All these people placing their faith in law, knowing that it is impossible. Believing that God will accept their work. When in fact the Cross is the only work He will accept. Look if your faith is in the cross, the Holy Spirit will then help you to keep God's morality, however when the focus of our faith moves to anything other than the cross, The Holy Spirit backs up and says you are own your own kid. Boast in the cross and not law, nor Passover nor 40 days of purpose, nor fasting, nor prayer, nor bible study. But, boast in the cross.
That sounds like it is made up, pure fantasy. Christians are under the law of Christ. Paul said he is under the law of Christ and wrote that we are under the law of Christ. This means we must love God and love our neighbor as Jesus loves us. 9 of the 10 commandments are affirmed in the New Testament. So please stop whining about things which are not true.

duplicitous false teacher.
what's a messianic believer?
you're welcome. any rebuke for your (lying) friend? or silence and fellowship?
apparently it was your poll and you know he answered he must rely on works of the law for salvation. you are deceptive as well.
it should become clearer as you study. why not get started? the crowd you're running with is leading away. or perhaps you're the leader. either way, stop speaking with authority. you have none.
God's ways are so above ours it's not possible to completely understand, after all, if He was so simple that we could, He wouldn't be so Great and Awesome!
I'm learning that the Bible should never be considered as if a checklist, that's happened won't happen again, so mark it off.
God says forever, I think He means forever..what we are to remember and do.
[SUP]Isaiah10 [/SUP]declaring the end from the beginning,
and from ancient times the things that are not yet done,
Eccleiastes[SUP]9 [/SUP]The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be;
and that which is done is that which shall be done:
and there is no new thing under the sun.
The Living Word is patterns, like seasons returning. Oh there may be differences in details certainly, but the pattern is there. It's more circular in scope than linear.
