For a very, very, very long time I've had NO PATIENCE what's so ever!!!! Like for a example my aunt was supposed to pick up my son at a certain time, so when the time came for her to get him and she wasn't there I called her immediately to see what's going on and her phone goes to voicemail so I call back and she still doesn't answer the phone. I start to get upset because I had my son ready when he was supposed to be ready and the fact that she didn't call to let me know that she was going to be late just frustrated me even more. It's not like I had any plans but I couldn't accept the fact that she was just a couple minutes late....I didn't have the patience for it....I've learned to have patience for issues about being late....But now realize I don't have the patience for nonsense, immaturity, foolishness and no common sense from grown adults....I feel like there's a dark cloud around me when I go to work because I really don't want to deal with certain people at work because I don't want to deal with the stupidity of others...I need my job but I don't have the patience to deal with certain adults that don't act there age....I need some help fast

"Lord! Please teach me to be patient, quick!" I've said that myself many times without saying it. It seems you have issues with being critical towards other people which results in impatience. I think most of us can relate with that at different degrees I know I can be quite critical of others without even realising its criticism. I've found what it takes is one, take the weakness to God and two, begin to renew your mind towards it. One thing I always have to remind myself, treat others how you want to be treated (even with your flaws) Remind yourself what love is, kind, patient, filled with self control, gentle etc. It takes time but you also need to have patience with yourself...and with God :)

this may not be the most practical advice, but I used to be just like you, and one thing that I learned was to not look at everything like is very important. the Holy Sprit taught me that I was making everything a priority 1, and everything is not.

so, maybe try and pray about training yourself to not see everything as a must-do-now. some things are important right now, but as you progress you will see many are not.

I know what you mean. I don't have patience for nonsense, immaturity, foolishness and a lack of common sense from grown adults either. I have often said, "high school never ends!"

James 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

I would have avoided a lot of mistakes in my life if I had more patience and not acted on impulse.

I can identify...I have been known to be slightly ahead of myself too

my husband is the opposite...so he keeps me in check now haha

seriously, impatience can really cause a lot of problems...it leads to mistakes, anger and misunderstandings among other things

patience is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Galatians 5

these are contrasted against the works of the flesh

19The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

and the answer is above the 2 contrasts:

13You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[SUP]a[/SUP] ; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[SUP]b[/SUP] 15If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.16So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[SUP]c[/SUP] you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

as an impatient person by nature, I can only recommend the answers in scripture....we need to surrender to God...He is more than willing to help us out with our natures :o

Not a problem with me.
I have always been willing to wait or put off until tomorrow!

Perchance, were you that person that went off and got saved, gleefully wanted to do everything God asked of you, so then you went off and asked for patience?

I was. I have regretted that ever since because God doesn't do "nevermind" on our prayers. He's going to instill patience in us if we want it or not. And there is only one way to get it -- patiently! He just keeps throwing us into the same situation over and over again until we realize we will never have that strength so need his.

And then when we get the first lesson down, (In your case, learning how to deal with someone who is late), he will go to next lesson, which feels quite a bit like the first lesson. (In my case, it was get stuck in a traffic jam just long enough to know I'd be the one late, but I don't use my cellphone, especially when behind the wheel of a car.)

And then on to the third lesson. And it just keeps going until he instills his patience in us.

I'll let you know how long it takes to get down "patience in all things." He's only been working on me for 44 years since I made that stupid request to him that he answered affirmatively.

The problem isn't the annoying co-workers. It's you lack patience for those co-workers. Rumor has it, they might not even be annoying, but I haven't had that one affirmed yet.

(Did you yet get the humor in your last line? No one gets patience fast. Kind of why it's called patience. lol)

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
– 2 Peter 3:8-9 (NIV)
God cares for people so much that he is willing to wait for them to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. We may become impatient with the process, but God is not like us. This should give us great hope, because we are not as far along in our faith as we would like to believe, but God is patient with us as well. The nature of God’s patience should humble all of us, for we are all in great need of God’s longsuffering in our journey of faith.

AMEN!

HOPE, another virtue that will grow inside of us as we mature in Christ...what beautiful blessings
our Saviour has created for us and always there's the thrill of growing step-by-step into
His reality while dutifully leaving our 'old' one behind...
