In my many years in churches I don't recall ever hearing a message, sermon or talk about patient endurance. I may have heard the term used in passing or in some theological framework but I never heard a teacher or pastor really explain what patient endurance is. Frankly I think these people have done a disservice to the Body of Christ by not discussing patient endurance and how important it is to the life of real faith and the journey through the wilderness. It is so very important that I am going to take this blog entry to illustrate it. Hopefully it will give you a perfect picture of what patient endurance is and how we see it.

Instead of trying to hopelessly explain what patient endurance is with mere words I have decided to show you with a video. This video is a clip from our favorite movie, The Big Country. In this clip you will see the main character, Jim McKay, and a horse called 'Old Thunder'. You could say that Jim McKay is a sojourner and 'Old Thunder' is the wilderness. We have yet to find a better visual of patient endurance. Click the link below to start the video.
