On the contrary, You can not have both, You have to have one or the other.
The law brings a curse to ALL who do not obey (according to moses every word)
Grace says in spite of that Curse, I love you anyway, so much I gave my life for you.
YThe law says do this or else. Grace says Since you have not done what I demand (perfect obedience to the law) I will take care of the issue, remove the curse, by becoming a curse for you.
You want to earn the gift of God. Good luck with that my friend. I will pray for you.
So then, I get Grace, and once this happens I am free to create images of God in the likeness of some long haired man that suits the imagination of my own mind and God doesn't care any more?
I get Grace, and am FREE to reject whatever Commandments of God that causes me grief like maybe His burdensome Sabbaths which always screws with opening day of deer season or duck season or trout season?
I get grace and I am free to create any "Feasts unto the Lord" even though Jesus, before He became a man, commanded that I not do such things?
I get grace, then I am FREE to create my own righteousness, my own "path" my own High Days and traditions.
Wow EG, it is clear why so "many" people are on the path you walk. What a wonderful easy ride to eternity. I don't need the Law and Prophets, because as you preach "the Law isn't for Christians".
But alas, I am destined to be held by those wicked Commandments of the God of the Bible. I must submit myself unto the righteousness of that horrible God of the Old Testament who created laws no one could follow, then killed thousands because they couldn't follow it.
No EG, I can't follow your god/jesus, it's too late for me. The God of the Bible has already written HIS laws on my heart.
And while I might miss opening day of trout season, and I don't get invited to the Sunday pig roast and Bingo games at the local church, I gladly miss these worldly things for the understanding God, in His Tender mercies, has given me.
I sought only to share this understanding with you in brotherly love, knowing, as Jesus said, that you probably wouldn't accept it.
You once said you could handle disagreement. I thought that was a mature thing to say.
So it seems we will just have to be in disagreement.
