פֶּלֶג Peleg, peh'-leg; earthquake; Peleg, a son of Shem:—Peleg.

"A
nd unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.” (Genesis 10:25 KJV)

פָּלַג pâlag, paw-lag'; a primitive root; to split (literally or figuratively):—divide.
פְּלַג pᵉlag, pel-ag'; (Aramaic) corresponding to—divided.
פְּלַג pᵉlag, pel-ag'; (Aramaic) from a half:—dividing. (Strong’s 6387)

The traditional interpretation relates Peleg's day to the division of language/family groups at the Tower of Babel. Comparing the lineage of Shem, which includes Peleg, to the lineage of Ham, which includes Nimrod, leader of the rebellion at Babel, we find it likely that Peleg was born soon after the dispersion (assuming the genealogies are complete). Thus it would have been reasonable for his father Eber to name a son in commemoration of this miraculous event.

Ham and Shem were 2 of Noah’s 3 sons.
Ham begat Cush, and Cush begat Nimrod (Genesis 10:6 and 8)
Shem begat Eber, and Eber begat Peleg (Genesis 10:21 and Genesis 11:16)

It appears that Peleg and Nimrod were 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] cousins.

The “tower of Babel” (Under Nimrod) was built in the modern day country of Iraq, biblically defined as Mesopotamia i.e. Shinar

"And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. Go to, let us ( "us" Father and Son) go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." (Genesis 11:1-2, and 7 KJV)

According to the biblical chronology as deduced by Archbishop Ussher, the Flood occurred in 2349–2348 BC, and Peleg was born in 2247 BC, 101 years after the flood according to the Bible. Peleg was 239 years old when he died.

Now in relation to the first empire under the direction of Nimrod, this is the chronology of the statue that Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream. Most of us only recognize the statue beginning with the head, but it actually begins with the toes, or legs, if you will.

"Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay." (Daniel 2:31-33 KJV)

Actually, there are 7 empires, or Gentile kingdoms that can be recognized in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.
1. The city of Babel under Nimrod (language divided, earth divided)
2. Egyptian Empire that eventually enslaved Israel
3. Assyrian Empire that captured the northern 10 tribes of Israel
4. Babylonian Empire that captured Judah
5. Medo Persian Empire under the Artaxerxes that released Judah to rebuild Jerusalem
6. Greek Empire under Alexander the Great
7. Roman Empire (divided)

"And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled." (Luke 21:24 KJV)
(in addition see Luke 21:7-28 and Matthew 24:3-31)

Could it be said that these 7 Empires represent the “times of the Gentiles?”

“And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; (Revelation 6:12 KJV)

Could it be that God will restore the earth back to it’s original geographical form?

I learned somewhere, many years ago, that in the days of Peleg not only was the Earths languages etc divided but the very continents as well....Is this what you are saying?

Accord to verse 14, every mountain and island will be moved.
It seems that every fault line will move.
One might assume that every GPS location will be different.
If that is true, all satellite communication will be interrupted.
Chaos will be everywhere.
No phones, TV, internet.
No government services.
Bridges, dams, power grids, homes, business destroyed.

People will see the power of God.
Most will just curse Him, and continue to reject His offer of salvation.

Sad, sad state of the world exposed!

Hi Unobtrusive,

This understanding can not be accurate. Daniel said the dream was about the future.

Daniel 2:29 As for you, O king, while on your bed your thoughts turned to what would take place in the future; and He who reveals mysteries has made known to you what will take place.

Daniel 2:36-43
“This was the dream; now we will tell its interpretation before the king. You, O king, are the king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the strength and the glory; and wherever the sons of men dwell, or the beasts of the field, or the birds of the sky, He has given them into your hand and has caused you to rule over them all. You are the head of gold.

Medo-Persia and Greece
After you there will arise another kingdom inferior to you, then another third kingdom of bronze, which will rule over all the earth.

Rome
Then there will be a fourth kingdom as strong as iron; inasmuch as iron crushes and shatters all things, so, like iron that breaks in pieces, it will crush and break all these in pieces. In that you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, it will be a divided kingdom; but it will have in it the toughness of iron, inasmuch as you saw the iron mixed with common clay. As the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of pottery, so some of the kingdom will be strong and part of it will be brittle. And in that you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery.

A new heaven and a new earth.
Revelation 21:1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.

I learned somewhere, many years ago, that in the days of Peleg not only was the Earths languages etc divided but the very continents as well....Is this what you are saying?

I think so too. I've thought that if during the flood that the earth expelled water from * below, that it would have created a vacancy under the surface of the top soil, and eventually that would have given way to create larger bodies of water such as the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and many other water ways. Three scriptures to keep in mind.

"And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so." (Genesis 1:7-9 KJV)

The land masses might have all been connected before the deluge. The water was gathered in "one" place during creation.

"But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground." (Genesis 2:6 KJV)

Doesn't look like it ever rained before the flood of Noah.

[SUP]"[/SUP]In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the * great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." (Genesis 7:11 KJV)

This might have been the very first time that it ever rained. I'm just musing.

A new heaven and a new earth.
Revelation 21:1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.

I've seen before about Peleg coming back as the antichrist. It is possible. He became nephilim and many of those were put into stasis for a return engagement.
Ron Skiba though. I'm afraid I've lost all confidence in him.

Peleg doesn't come back. Peleg is a descendant of Shem, not Ham. Nimrod represents who will come back in the last days, or what he represents (paganism) will come back. Nimrod is a descendant of Ham. It appears that you've lost what Ron Skiba was presenting. That loss would make anybody lose confidence in his presentation.

It really doesn't matter who's descendant Peleg was. He is nephilim and is in stasis. He is coming back. It remains to be seen if he is the antichrist though. Ron Skiba has changes his stance too many times to be reliable as far as I'm concerned

Shem is a direct ancestor of our Lord Jesus Christ. Peleg was Shem's offspring. I sincerely don't believe Peleg was a nephilim, the offspring of a fallen angle.

Take note of Luke chapter 3, especially verse 36 which reads "the son of Cainan, the son of Arphaxad, the son of Shem, the son of Noah, the son of Lamech,"

According to the OP "
Shem begat Eber, and Eber begat Peleg (Genesis 10:21 and Genesis 11:16)"

Well then, you need to read about Peleg again in the bible. It says he began to become gibborim. Nephilim. Or do you doubt the bible? I thought not. It says it very clearly. A mans ancestors to not define who the man becomes. That is HIS choice. Just like your daddy does not decide who you become, You do.

Do you have a scripture reference I can look at? The only ones I can find are in Genesis 10:25, Genesis 11:16-19, 1 Chronicles 1:19 and 25. I think you are mistaking Peleg for Nimrod, Peleg's 2nd cousin descended from Ham.

Gibborim (from the singular גִּבֹּר, גִּבּוֹר gibbor) is a Hebrew word that can be glossed "mightiest" which is an intensive for gabar (גּבר) that can be glossed "mighty". Many times it is used of people who are valiant, mighty, or of great stature.

"And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord." (Genesis 10:8-9 KJV)

That's the whole point of this tread. Peleg and Nimrod lived at the same time. Peleg is equated with the dividing of the earth. Nimrod can be equated with the last days when the "Antichrist" will be revealed.

You know what? I was confusing Peleg with Nimrod! I'm sorry. I only sleep about every three days so I can get a bit loopy by the time I sleep. You are right my friend. Go for it. Me? I'm just going to shut up. LOL

Not a problem! Love you as a brother.
