Agreed. Always a good idea to keep the costs down. 4WD is like a few times more likely to have a transmission failure over the lifespan of the vehicle.4WD is also something else that can go wrong on an old truck. More stuff to maintain and keep functioning if you want your truck to run.
2WD is much cheaper in the long run and usually they still give you a 4WD suspension on a 2WD vehicle....not a vast improvement but better than otherwise.
