I often wondered why people long ago portrayed the devil with a pitch fork. Then i got a revelation and i found the symbol is fascinating and could be a type of a warning:
Picture the straight pole through the middle of the fork. This is the straight and narrow that Jesus tells us about, but also there is an intersection in the middle of the fork. You now see three different paths to take, not only the straight, but ...one to the left and one to the right.
When tempted at the intersections of trials, we are faced with taking the path to the left or right to get us off of the straight and narrow of life. Ahh the pitchfork in the road....
Wood, stubble and... HAY...just a thought for the day. Be blessed.
"Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them." Deut 28:14
"Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove your foot from evil." Prov 4:27
