Nature Of Man by Bryn Howarth
Angels are crying as they look down on the world tonight.
Demons are laughing as they masquerade as truth and light.
There's violence on the streets and there's murder in the surgeries.
Human life is cheap, you can sit and watch it on TV.
Crime is increasing and there's nothing for the kids to do.
Truth is adjusted, it's dependant on who makes the rules.
The waiting rooms are full of people tired of living on the edge.
We've got everything we need but we still can't fill this emptiness.
We're treating the symptoms never finding the root,
So nobody ever gets well,
Cos the heart of the problem is the problem of the human heart.
Humanistic lies preaching there's a paradise in the making.
Now we've come of age we are free to make our brave new world.
We get out on the streets and we demonstrate for peace and life.
Meanwhile in our homes there is war and we're prone to strife.
The heart is deceitful, it is sick and corrupt,
And only the Lord knows how bad.
So if you want to change the world, then you'll have to change the human heart.
Refrain
In the beginning when God made the world, He gave the dominion to man
And he was content just to live and to love, until he gave it away.
Now it's dying, dying fast and we're trying to make it last
But our answers drag us down in a whirlpool going round and round and round.
We've got to understand it's the nature of man..
We've got to understand it's the nature of man..
Children are dying cos they haven't got enough to eat.
We try to stop the blood but sometimes it seems the wound’s too deep.
There's so much delusion in the endless search for power and wealth.
Even our good deeds are all guaranteed to please ourselves.
Hopeless and confused we don’t tremble at the news every evening.
We shake our heads and moan and we wonder where its going to end.
Ideologies bringing nations to the eve of destruction.
Seduced and hypnotised we just stand there mesmerised and do nothing.
Foolishly thinking that these gods hold our fate,
We sit and we wait for the end,
But the Cross is the answer to the problem of the human heart.
Repeat - Refrain
We must be born again...
