Point Score chat room.

I noticed that the site counts your likes, and posts in forums. Why not any new member who join up this site?. that they are put in a certain room made for new comers, and the more they show potential that they not here to mess around, or troll, or to cause trouble. they are scored points in that chat, to open up more rooms, which maybe a mod is assigned to that room.

Just a suggestion.

Also make a room specially for the derailers. lol

Moderating potential trolls sounds great! But I think a sort of pseudo caste or social positioning system for newcomers would turn people off.

Again, mods are volunteers who come on their own time. Assigning mods to rooms won't work because there are not always mods on 24/7. Besides, this runs into two problems.
1) all a person has to do is fake it til they get approved.
2) who would stay on the site if they are restricted to only one room, and few people to talk to? The number of new users logging into chats at any one time would be quite limited and provide almost no example of their behavior because there would be very little to talk to. People would get annoyed and quit long before they had a chance to get approved.

Could be a major obstacle for a sincere user who comes to the site.
I've observed forums where you need to do X amount of things before you can jump in.
That's alotta monkey business to most folks.

Most like to sign up, jump, and get to it.

If a user had to sign up, then get points or post this or that amount, they may see said requirement and decide it's too much hassle.

On the other hand, for sites with super dooper high traffic, this would be an amazing deterrant, and some may not view it as that big an obstacle in order to stick around.

All I want to see is the mod doing there job well, as they certainly do for what I seen, so thumbs up to them for there good work. I understand mods are not on 24/7. As different time zones play into effect.

Regarding fake people to get the points to be approved, that I can see happening and probably happening as we speak, even if its nothing to do with this idea or suggestion. With many people have so many usernames, and double browsing, and people using different ip's just to get in on the site. So again I applause the mods and admin for there work, to remove them.

Staying on long enough, may possible be an issue. But How many people know facebook is dangerous, and privacy breaches, and virus attacks, and personal information is sold on to third parties, site restrictions. Yet they still log on to facebook, they still keep coming back to it. So thinking for other people may not be a good thing. as people are different, and possible would think this is a safe site after all, and may see this site a potential good site for them.


Again this is only a suggestion an idea. and sounds by all your comments, it could be a good thing, and could be a bad thing. all comments are greatly received. So thank you for all comments.

The bold part of your post has nothing at all to do with anything i said. So what is your point?

Also, i've been on here over two years, and as the Admin, 1still said, i've never heard of any mod paying to be a mod. And i've talked to a number of mods over the years about their positions. Perhaps you misunderstood whoever it is that told you that.

I'm sorry, but I highly doubt that any mod would tell you this. We do NOT have to pay anything to be a mod. Many of us chose to donate to the site either way. I was donating to the site years ago before I was ever a mod and have chosen to continue doing so because I support this site whole heartedly. And I would continue to donate even if I were to be asked to step down as a mod, or chose not to be one any more. My donations are not tied in any way to the position.
